Well yes it would be something different.
Also totomi isn't the best map. Is the best combination of flatness but still has some tactic in it. The are better maps than totomi but nobody plays them.

I like any map with a bridge and me on the defending side. Does that count?

Actually - Shinano is a difficult map - that is why I like it. Defending - it offers alot. Attacking - makes u take on what is, in essence - the ultimate hill. Few other maps have hills like Shinano. Because of this, if you can take it against a camper, your not likely to be beaten on anything but maybe a bridge.

perhaps there could be several categories to vote on, i.e. playability, most fun, looks, weirdness, all time favorite, stw (as opposed to we/mi), we/mi (as opposed to stw), most difficult to attack on, most difficult to defend on, best 1v1 map, best 2v2, best 3v3, best 4v4, best campaign map, best CA map, best 3rd party map, best map of a given author, and so on. it's hard to judge without some criteria of what yer basing yer judgement on.

thanks soly. i'm afraid a lot of my maps will never make the 'most playable' list...too many weirdnesses and impassable zones.

yes, that one does have to be the most unique map in the game. there is NO other like it, even if it does play like crap ;) did you know that that map also works in we/mi?

i also sent a copy of it to graham at CA and he said he'd show it to the guys there. that was before we/mi came out and when it did come out, i noticed that the map editor would no longer support the ability to do that. lol. ya think i had anything to do with that? ;)

as for spectacular maps, tosa has a new one, that he's distributed to a few of us for testing, that is absolutely the most scenic map i've ever seen in the game. it is gorgeous. it's currently called something like '2ndShiro28". when he finishes this and posts it, get it! it's worth it just for the aesthetic value. i also recorded a multi game on this map with the new battle recorder. boy, i need my own web site so i can post screenshots and stuff.

and vanya, dont forget 'vanya's harima' ;)

sorry to say but when looking as objective as posible most home made maps we see online are crap, esp when u look at minor details like how textures are placed and fit on their neighbours.

also teh atmphosphere is lacking most of teh time and the challenging aspect as well to play the map.
