Favorit setups?

well,

i saw the post about favorit units....

i want to know the favorit setups, with some explainations...

i just hope that we see some other setups than the outshhoting generation...


my peronal favorit... 9k-setup

1x h4 hc (gen)
2x h4 yc
1x h4 nc
4x h2 guns
2x h0 cavarcher
4x h4 nd
2x h5 sams +1 weapon

sometimes i use just 3 guns....

well this setup is nice balanced imo.
they cav is a bit defensiv with this 2yc, to face all this nc-lover.

my nd are the mainpart, the sams the universal units, can face other nd/monks or get some horses, they can hold 1 side too
...all possible...

the hc gen is best, i tested a lot, he near never get killed above 20 mens, and hc hold a long time like the naginata.

grouping:

1. hc + yc
2. 4nd
3. yc + nc
4. guns (sometime i splitt in 1 groups)
5. cavarcher (splitt possible too)
6. 2 sams (splitt possible too)

if i splitt:

7. the other cavarcher
8. the other 2 guns
9. the other sams

I have different set-ups, but this is the one I use mostly on flat maps on a nice fine day. I just discovered the power of the cav - hell took me 1.7 years but in 1.02 they're easier to use too. http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/smile.gif

3xh2 HC (1 gen)
3xh2 NC
2xh1 CA
4xh1 Monks
4xh4 Musks

The HC beats any monks up to h3. (Yes hon2 hc beats a wm hon3)
The NC beats any nod up to h4/5.
The CA if used well may do even 100+ kills
The Monks will do the infantry job. Coupled with good cav use they'll do good.
The hon4 musks will give very good firepower.

My groups are:

1. 2 HC 1 NC on left
2. 1 HC (gen) 2 NC right
3. 4 monks center
4. 4 musks as the core missile power
5. the 2 CA free on each flank

It is a tricky army, you have to make sure that the Cav go into the enemy shock troops not into Ys. http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/redface.gif But once you get used to certain tricks the army will rock...
