Your a rich snotty kid who lives on a nice wealthy estate belonging to one of the empire's wealthiest noble families. The Emperor wants to go on campaign and decides no rich kid can escape from military service, even for commutation of gold. Since the Emperor is keen on showing the rest of the world how soft nobles are, you have to fight. So herein lies the situation:

You have lots of money and resources to buy your equipment, whether that be weapons, armour, etc.

However, you have to arrive for service as a mounted warrior

Now: what kind of mounted warrior would you be and what kind of specific weapon and armour would you buy with your ample resources?

I'd be an English longbowman, and have people build a gigantic, movable wall s i coul shoot a few arrows and then go to sleep, secure behind my wall.

Ok, Kata, i would dress up in something as inconspicuous as possible, maybe some peasant robes over my plate mail. Then i would ride a horse with a shoddy cloth covering over its armor so no one can tell whether i'm a noble or not. Also, i would carry ransom money with me just in case.

Well, being both stupid and rich, I would spend a lot of money on a great feast for my glory. Then I would buy the most elaborate armour around, sit myself on a mighty warhorse and lead a regiment of equally stupid, rich young brats into combat. Preferably against some noble enemy with very good weapons to chop me up.

Oh a good suite of plate armor and good weapon and several retainers. Then I would use more money to orginize a coupe against the opposing goverment so I would not need to use my nice shiny suite of armor.
