Your a rich snotty kid who lives on a nice wealthy estate belonging to one of the empire's wealthiest noble families. The Emperor wants to go on campaign and decides no rich kid can escape from military service, even for commutation of gold. Since the Emperor is keen on showing the rest of the world how soft nobles are, you have to fight. So herein lies the situation:
You have lots of money and resources to buy your equipment, whether that be weapons, armour, etc.
However, you have to arrive for service as a mounted warrior
Now: what kind of mounted warrior would you be and what kind of specific weapon and armour would you buy with your ample resources?

I'd be an English longbowman, and have people build a gigantic, movable wall s i coul shoot a few arrows and then go to sleep, secure behind my wall.

Ok, Kata, i would dress up in something as inconspicuous as possible, maybe some peasant robes over my plate mail. Then i would ride a horse with a shoddy cloth covering over its armor so no one can tell whether i'm a noble or not. Also, i would carry ransom money with me just in case.
Well, being both stupid and rich, I would spend a lot of money on a great feast for my glory. Then I would buy the most elaborate armour around, sit myself on a mighty warhorse and lead a regiment of equally stupid, rich young brats into combat. Preferably against some noble enemy with very good weapons to chop me up.

Oh a good suite of plate armor and good weapon and several retainers. Then I would use more money to orginize a coupe against the opposing goverment so I would not need to use my nice shiny suite of armor.

Since i'm rich and stupid,i'd goto to the nearest armourer,and becuase i'm rich and stupid,buy a totally crap armour and weapon for a large sum of money,then go to a stable and get tricked again and buy some lame horse thats almost impossible to control becuase hes stubborn,or so i think its a horse,at least the stable owner assured me that some horses have very long ears....

Get myself a fast horse, lightly armour it and me, get an arbalest with a spring mounted waisho bayonet, and make sure I'm near the emperor. One little "accident" with my pigsticker and thats my military service done, and the fast horse should prove handy then too.
Rich and snotty maybe, but I ain't dumb.
I'd buy my self the best equipment and horses I could. If I could I would buy several Panther II tanks for myself and retainers. Then with the rest of the money I hire the enemies armies as mercenaries for me and have them betray their "real master" at the most critical point in battle.
Remember, I'm rich and may lack the common sense of a common peasant but I'm more than well aware of the power of sacks upon sacks of gold.

if i were rich and snooty, i would prolly do really bad in battle, then blame the soldiers under my command.
I would buy the most expensive swiss army knife and stab, screw, unscrew, cut, slice, peel anyone in my way to being the "best" general.
But seriously I would equip my shooters with scoped (with distance marks) and laserguided "modern" crossbows (taking into account that i invented time machine...... blah.. blah... and so on).
I would do a trans-"dimensional" travel to Harad in Middle Earth... buy myself a Mumakil (The giant elephants in lord of the rings). Then with this uniqe weapon i would run around smash my enemys with the mumakil feets... while hurling naptha granades from above... muahahah http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wave.gif

i would a: invest it b: spend large amounts of it to receave (sp) more and c: pay some1 to come to college 4 me
oh and buy a very flash car so i would have to stop using the trains.

I'm rather curious as well of what Mongol Noble would use for battle. It'd probably vary from foe to foe.

I'd buy a Tiger with a veteran pilot. Gunning is more fun, & requires less training.
Or, 700 years ago, a Chainmail, a lance(for charge), a sword(for facing other nobles), bow(to reduce the number of opponents), a flail(to crush those annoying footmen), and as much escort I could afford. Chainmail for my horse too.
The fastest Arabic horse I can find, to make the swiftest 180 degrees possible. My cowardess would be legendary.

Well, be being the type of person that hatres haveing a ton of stuff draped all over you I'd....
By a small yet strong sheild, some cheap leather armour (die parts of it green and black; camofauge) a short sord with really good hand protection. And a small lonbow.
With all of this I'd perch myself high in a tree on the side of the battle feild and shoot away. Can't forget the black pony hidden in the shadowsd just in case.
