nevermind i made an error......got a question though....any way we can play games in old medi?... and s what this about recall??
You cant join old 1.1 games. We cant see their hosted games and they cant see ours.
Im a bit confused right now..CA said the patch was official but Activision recalled it and you can still download it from .Com
Some people have login problems it seems..maybe thats is the reason.

Activision has apparently recalled the patch. That doesn't mean that it wasn't the official patch which should work fine, and it doesn't mean there'll be any more work done on the patch. The full story is unknown as yet. My personal advice is, get it, install it, forget about it.

had my first drops tonight, needless to say, end of game, but as far as quitting goes, it is fine
I think there is a chance that a drop can cause other players in the battle to go out of sync and possibly crash the whole game, but in most cases the battle should continue for everyone except the one player who dropped.

Quote[/b] (ElmarkOFear @ Oct. 12 2003,13:38)]Had just one drop last night. Game froze, but once the player was actually gone, game resumed and his troops moved off of map.
I do still have to reboot after hosting for 4v4 games. At 3v3 I can host a couple back to back before having to reboot.
GAH
REBOOT? Why in Vanya's name would you have to reboot after hosting? Surely you just mean logout and log back in... right?
Vanya downloaded patch over weekend but didn't install it as He was still in ze middle of something... Then He reads here about a Total Recall... sees a plethora of threads spewing dreadful news of mysterious crashes, weird bugs and a Papal barbecue... GAH Vanya sez... I guess its good that He not install it yet... Vanya sez... Vanya thinks that despite Gil's comments above to the contrary, that the folks in-the-know realize there are too many bugs yet to be fixed, probably because of shoddy QA work... and thus, they WILL be reworking the patch to fix these issues.
Vanya asks... those who experience problems: do youz experience them on unaltered games, or do you experience them on MODDED games? If these crashes occur on UNMODDED games: BAD.

Vanya is wrong... the contents of the patch are not changing... the 'official' version is no different from the 'recalled' version in terms of what it patches in the game.

Konnichiwa Elmark san,
A full reboot of the computer, not a relog or even just a restart of the game?

elmo powers it down tosa. i think it's more of a psychological ritual by now though. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif i notice after hosting a 4v4, if i do not restart mtw, the next game i try and host won't show up, and i get a ctd.

How much RAM does your computer have Elmark?
Konnichiwa Elmark san,
I'm not sure, but you may experience a problem with RAM. STW had something that looked like a memoryleak, not sure whether it really was that. TW games are larger applications and hosting 4v4 seems to require more than hosting 1v1. Physical RAM can become fragmentated or not properly given back to Windows.
You may consider to use a RAM optimizer (MemDefrag, MemTurbo). It defrags memory and claims to recover leaked memory. Here are a free ones RamIdle LE (http://www.tweaknow.com/download.html)
MPower (http://www.mindbeat.com/)
The RAM optimizers may help solve your problem. They can be automated, may not be the best option when playing games. Or you can simple log out, ALT TAB and run it manually (done within seconds), ALT TAB back in and relog. Faster than a reboot.
I've had experiences with an Ati card that seems to indicate that a similar thing can happen to videoram.
i use cacheman, that covers any leaks, and restores memory that has been "lost"
you can adjust how and when and how much it restores, or attempts to
