GAH

What kind of dog do you think CA should base their RTW attack dogs on? Any of the above dogs are world-reknown for their tenacity and aggresiveness, and often make the best attack dogs

Yo quero brute...

Killer chihuahuas rampaging across the lands...

The high pitched yips echoing in the moonlight...

Their barbaric worshippers praying to bobble headed idols...

The horror...

Lhasa Apso all the way baby Nothing beats twenty pounds of tiny Tibetan terror laying the Buddhist mojo smackdown on some unsuspecting soul's ankle...

In the very least this breed's innate cutesiness will illicit fits of uncontrollable cooing and baby talk from the enemy... "Awwwwwwww... Whaddacutewiddlepuppydog" It is during this weakened state that the enemy becomes particularly susceptible to cheap shots to the skull with a large blunt instrument.

Those are all fine and dandy, but can anyone honestly say that any breed is cooler than a weiner dog?

How about afgan hunting dogs? Quite ferocious (if in wilderness) and very fast.

Anyone know what kind of dogs the Spanish used against the Native Americans? Apparently those were quite fierce. Narvaez frequently used them to rip apart Seminoles.

How about the Neopolitan Mastiff? This is the dog the Romans actually used in fighting. It wouldn't only be historically accuarate, but it would also be badass having a horde of these mean SOBs gunning for the enemy

The Romans used to put spikes on the back of their war dogs, so that the dogs can run under enemy horses and slice their belly open The dogs were trained to do this They used this mostly with the Neopolitan Mastiif.

This is much like the Soviet Anti-tank dog, which wore a mine pack with a trigger on top. A pic:

The Soviets won because the German High Command proved to be its own soldiers' worst enemy. But that is a completely off topic discussion for another thread.

Aside from being highly controversial and cruel the use of 'dog bombs' to take out enemy tanks was a miserable failure. Given only the most basic training the dogs were often unable to discern friend from foe (try getting Fido to memorize a vehicle silhouette chart) in the midst of battle Much to the chagrin of their handlers these high explosive canines would be all to eager to crawl underneath nearby Soviet vehicles and blast some future post-mortem recipients of the Hero of the Soviet Union medal into oblivion.

Furthermore this program probably destroyed many intelligent, well trained dogs which could have been used for far more useful missions like guard duty, courier missions and mine detection. But this was not nearly as bad as the use of countless intelligent, well trained Soviet soldiers who were wasted in horrifyingly tragic human wave assaults... http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/rolleyes.gif
