How does honor effect each unit?
I know they fight better and dont rout as fast.Buy how does a h2 melee unit differ from a h3 unit?

honour change the point when ur units wil waver or run away...
example
in a 1v1 unit vs unit....a h2 sam will waver with 30, a h3 with 25, h4 with 20, h5 with 15
and so on.....
every honour upgrade adds +1 wepon or +1 armour (+1 defence inclusiv)

Honor is like a modifiers to all of your dice rolls. High honor gives a major bonus to hit, to defend, to shoot arrows, to keep from running away, everything! High honor can offset even things like attacking uphill. The only bummer is that it takes many battles (in SP) to get units up to higher levels, and when they die, your back to square one.
That's the biggest advantage of building the bigger dojo's. And archer that starts off at honor 2 is much better at everything than an honor 0! It's similar to "level" in a role-playing game.
Also - the game tracks honor for each soldier, not just each unit! The "honor" of a unit is just the average of its soldiers! That's why adding a couple of high-honor soldiers to a low-honor unit will sometimes cause the overall unit honor to jump! Also, that means if those guys are the ones to die, then the whole unit avereage drops, and they're more likely to panic.

I don't think the formula is a straight forward 1h = +1w +1a(+1d inclus)
Is this a confirmed one from the developer?
u should read correct plz...

Each honor point adds +1 "alternately" to the attack or defend value, and +2 to morale. The armor is unaffected. Odd numbered honor adds to the attack value and even numbered honor adds to the defend value. You can check this with the F1 status screen when in 3D battle mode. However, you won't see unit morale listed there. Ranged units are supposed to have better accuracy with higher honor, but, if so, it's a small effect.

The only real effect honour has on ranged units is its ROF. A h9 arcer will get 2-3 volleys more off then a h0 archer unit on flat ground being charged by Yari Samurai.
