What I do not understand is why a person who has been singled out by the Inquisition becomes an atheist after a couple of years. I personally think that this makes burning high ranking, albeit non-noble, generals far to easy. I believe that atheism should be a randomly acquired trait rather than be so easily gained. Is there a way to change this? I also don't understand why having clergy in a province where an inquisition is being conducted reduce the chances of success. Why is this so?

A clergy man reduces the zeal in a province who are more focused on religion and not so keen on watching non-believers burned at the stake as they would rather convert them than slaughter them. Thats jjust my guess

Its like the old Chinese saying, Three Men Make a Tiger. If three people approach you, one after the other, all swearing that there's a tiger in the mountains, you're gonna believe them, right? So if ten inquisitors all find fault with one guy, chances are you'll believe them after a while.

We know what the methods of inquisition were. If a pious man is subjected to those repeatedly "in the God's name" no wonder he becomes an atheist...

Sometimes the victims in the game become 'Born Again'. So it isn't always to the bad side it turns. Though that makes sense doesn't it?

Imagine being put through that torture and interrogation, I would perhaps become an Atheist too...

I simply object to the times when someone, after repeated Inquisitions, gets both the Born Again AND Atheist traits. A Born Again Atheist? Nuh?

Inquisitors are lovely when on your side.. but if they dare burn one of my generals, their nation will bleed in return

BTW anyone remember the Geisha in STW... man o man I once had overpowered the Hojo as the Shimazu but they came with a Geisha which killed all my Daimyo's... ending the game for me despite my military superiority. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/rolleyes.gif
