Well guys who thinks each faction should have its own unique battle,win,loss,mobilize...etc etc music?

Also if its possible(to the Devs)can we have a sample music downloadable?you know i can't wait to hear it,i'd prefer either Roman or Greek, becuase in all honesty they sound cool.

I don't know if I would necessarily say each faction should get its own music. However, I think a case could be made for separate music for each *culture*--i.e., the Roman factions, the Barbarian factions, the Hellenistic factions, etc.

Now as to whether CA will actually have the time or inclination do such a project, that's another matter entirely If they do so, that's fantastic; but if they don't, I doubt it will seriously detract from my enjoyment of the game. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

The Total War music is so good I say the more the merrier Realistically speaking I think we can probably expect a set of music for each 'cultural' group, creating a soundtrack for each of the 20 factions would be way to expensive and it would take up a heck of a lot of space.

Those of us able to watch Time Commanders have already heard a sample of the music - the in-battle music in the programme is the real stuff. So far it has been excellent quality, however the team keep talking over it http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/mad.gif I would love a sample or two of this music, after all it has already gone public so where is the harm in CA putting it up for download? Besides I have listened to the existing TW music so many times I am in danger of wearing a hole in my hard drive

If you give us a music sample or two you could call it our Christmas presents http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

I agree 100% with Froggy... the TW Music rules and the more the better.

Can we have some downloads CA? http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

I don't want the sound files to make the game too large of an install. I'd rather that they made it moddable so that you could add in music and assign it to cultures and/or factions.

Very good idea Faiz

Having an advance sample of the music, made available for download would be totally awesome

Lets hear some more cool cultural soundtracks. I loved the music in TW so far and I would sure love to see 20 or so different sets of music.

Shogun was a darn long install becuase of the music but we all loved it (and still do). Of course the resources required for such an scale would be considerable.

It can be done.

I don't know if for every faction, but for every culture is a must. The variety is very important.

Well that what worries me culture specific music,it would'nt spoil the fun though, but i still think listening to egyptian music while playing the persian factions(parthians, seleucids)is still annoying.

What they should do.
CA makes culture specific music.
BUT-Each Faction gets it's own music directory. Game CD only has one copy of each song and sounds, and it copies the proper culture in to a culture sound folder.
If the faction folder is emtpy, it will play the music from it's culture, if you add music to, and can create the option to play the music exclusively from it's folder, or both culture and it's folder.

Thus allowing modders to easily make music and install it to properly work for the faction they want it to.

I would think they might, There was different music in M:TW.

Just out of curiosity, what would you choose the Persian theme to sound like? I'll ask Darius the next time I see him, but that might be a while. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif

Play Prince of Persia Sands of Time to find out ...heh.

Seriously now, I think the Arabian culture was quite influeced by the Persian culture when they conquered what was left of Persia, after Justinian I and Belisarius had done with them.

These poll results are a real eye-opener. They've inspired me to set up one of my own. Keep a lookout for:

Would you like RTW to be a good game?:

1. Yes
2. No
3. I refuse to answer until the 56 year bug is fixed
4. Gah

I've voted one, but what I meant was that every culture should get its own music. But could CA please release some music samples? I would prefer a few tracks from the game above a new trailer.

Are there any CA staff in the forum?

yes, they should get their own.
My reason: Why shouldn't they? http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/gc-inquisitive.gif

The music was one of my favorite parts of Shogun, and the Islamic music is my fav in Medieval. It helps create a better "feeling" to the game.

Aside from factional themes, I would like to have more battlefield music. I want to hear trumpets, drums, horns, cymbals, whatever. Not constantly but only when appropriate, based on rational assumptions. Certain actions by your army should trigger some signals. An advance could cause trumpet blasts for example.

Maybe some tribes could raise a racket in a demonstration before the battle begins.

Personally I might listen to the music the first few times I play but then the volume goes down and the CD goes on.

Lat's face it, after hearing the same music for 5 hours a day every day it gets boring http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/eek.gif http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/gc-builder.gif http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/gc-curtain.gif

Yes each faction should get its own distinct music. If doing so doesn't hurt CA efforts on other parts of the game.

I absolutely love the MTW music. In fact I still have the VI viking music playing from my pc most of the time. I think it is the mobilize track if I recall correctly.

Creating music for each faction in RTW would be a lot of work though
