View Full Version : naginata killing power
hey guys/girls I just wonder what is your record kill with your nagis.
my best was against the AI (surprise of suprises http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/smile.gif I managed to collect 209 heads with one of my nagis
More than once my HC did 250+ kills.
Don't know the exact number.
I don't know nag, the last time I used one was months ago http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/wink.gif

With proper upgrades, a Nagi can get quite a few kills. So far, the best I have see is a bit over 600. However, this was using them as a trapper. Normally its around 100 or so.

My CA get 400+ kills every few battles
Hmmm BSM_Skkzarg:
How did you pull that one off? What setting (60men? 100? 120?)
My Nagis avarage performace in a real big campaign battle is something like 2-3 kills with 20-30 loss. I use them as sand-bags remember?

Gothmog - I used the "trap" trick someone shared on another threat. Hide a nagi in trees on a river map. Set the rest of your guys up and let the enemy cross - as they close - move your nagi out and block the bridge on the now far side. When you route the enemy - all his men will route to the bridge, onto it, and into your waiting nagi's, who should be set to hold. Cutting down the runners is quiet easy, as you can be plenty deep and still easily cover the bridge exit. Since they are running, they don't hit back. Its very rare to see any of them get thru the nagi's. setting was at 60 men. That particular battle I was lucky - was Oda attacking and he was extremely ashi heavy - I routed his general and one sam unit - the rest broke - and I pursued - chased em to the bridge and into the arms of the nagi...
ahhh it was beautiful. ROFL

whoa, nice trick. i might try ti with one or two BFN units. but it really is alot easier to defend if the enemy has to fight its way across a bridge...

My best result with naginatas was in one of the old historical battles: (60 men per unit)One group scored 114 kills and suffered 27 losses. And the other ones scored 211!! kills (thats nearly 4 enemy units) and suffered guess how many losses ...... only 8. Ok, my men had honour 4 and the AI attacked with Yari Samurai. But nevertheless this guys killed 26 enemies for each man they lost. And best of all they didn't kill one fleeing enemy, only attacking enemies. If you have cavalry you often score 200 or more kills by cutting down fleeing men.

Gah!
You don't need a bridge to do the blocking routers trick....
Krast had a SP campaign game, enemy attacks with 9,000 men on 120-man units.
One unit of BNinja Krast sent off to lurk on their rout path ... they got 800+ kills just standing there.

TheForce,
You can't destroy bridges in MI/WE. You could edit them out, but then the map would be useless.

Don't use only honour, use theforce, too.

Recently the remaining 28 of them took back 328 heads from 2 computer controlled enemies in the match where I had only 78% of the koku amount they totally had.
With honor 3, they may have achieved their best performance over koku. just my 2 cents http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/wink.gif
You may estimate how many koku I have bought to the battlefield too. http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/wink.gif

I don't really tend o use nagis. But if I do they are also sand-bags to hold up the enemy advance. Never use them in attack. Too slow!
