A 1000 yrs of history

Since I have for a long time been fascinated by the Byzantine world...I after careful consideration have begun sketching on a mod...even changed the europe map into a map of the byzantine world with much help of wellingtons many helpfull posts...

The thought is that the mod will run over three periods ending 1204 and begining around 650-750 a little depending on which sources of military information i gain...

It would centre on the south eastern parts of the old european map with the main point on The holy land, Italy, Balkan and Minor Asia...

Is there anyone who has done this before or had the Idea?

I'll post a picture of the strategic map within a few days...

I dunno about a byz camp. is ther going to be italy i mean the bys by my knowledge attempted to get the western empire of rome back a couple of times would it go to the crusades and such because it would be cool to take over constantinople with the turks though

The first period will be primarily Byzantines as playable fraction trying to fend of almost everyone after Justiantins successful conquest of africa, spain and Italy. As well as the rising of the arabs...(maybe arabs and parthians will be acceptable as interesting major fractions...)

The Second Period will be primarily conserned with centre on rebuilding after the great losses during the arab rising...and will probably end around 950...major player will be muslim fractions and byzans...+some barbarians etc...

While the last period will centre on the crusade up to 1204 when the fourth (or was it the fifth) crusade takes constantinople...Major player will be crusader nations...venedig, sicilians, several muslim fractions...
