There has been some degree of contention regarding all of the information out there; (which site is hype?), (which site is accurate?), ect. For the most part I think it is sensible to go by what it says on the Totalwar.com official page. If they change their P.O.V. we'll update our info as quickly as possible + it stands to reason that they would be the best informed.

Good News & Bad News:

The bad news is that realistically, (and largely because of their confidentiality agreements), we can't count on the designers for much added information in this situation. Let's just keep our ears to the ground and see how everything pans out.

The good news is: I know for a fact that .org is one of the sites that the designers/testers are keeping tabs on, (trust me). Hence, the best thing we can do is to generate as much unsolicited feedback as possible concerning the features we feel are neccessary to the forthcoming release a worthwhile product.

However, let's not forget we aren't the only Shogun fans in the universe; there's a shitload of other people out there who's needs and desires may be totally different from ours. More to the point: we hardcore-types have to accept that we aren't going to get everything we want from a product release by a large gaming company with a large target audience. It's difficult to keep our own niche in perspective sometimes, but in the long run if we can learn to act within our means, we'll surely be better off.

IMO the very best thing we can do in the near future is to organize ourselves. Moreover if we can do this while the product is still in it's design stage, then maybe, just maybe, we can convince them to give us more of what we want.

This forum is a genuine insane asylum at the moment, but that's likely due more to our overwhelming sense of excitement than our uncertainty or frustration; my guess is that things will steady given a few days. Besides, we've got Anssi Hakkinen as our new moderator, and with all of us genius' in one place how can we possibly fail...? http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/biggrin.gif

May God help us all...

Kidding 'course.

Kurando is absolutely right. I will add to that that if you want to get at least 70% of "fill in the blank", you need to aim for 110% (fuzzy logic here but I think you get the message). This assertion is true specially in the software market... and although it is indeed true that we are just but a small part of the community our views are most of the times qiute representative of the majority in several occassions... and they know it.... which contradicts my signature here below... so dont quote me on this http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/biggrin.gif

Congratulations Anssi on becoming a moderator.Hurrando escape my padded room at an asylum to post this. http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/biggrin.gif

What I really think needs to happen is that The Shogun or someone similar post and clear this up if they can.

I think what is necessary here is to compile another list of items we would like to see in this upcoming expansion - similiar to the one Erado San compiled prior to the 1.12 patch. This list should be targeted for the expansion set although I wouldn't be adverse to sneaking in some of the current problems with the strategetic interface.

Good idea monkey!

What do you say Anssi can you fill Erado shoes and put together an itemized list for the developers? If you compile it I'll make sure that the right people get it. Bet?

Uggh, Sounds like a lot of work if you ask me. I wonder how difficult it would be to set up a html page where people could write out suggestions that other people could vote for or against (like a petition). It might be possible to organize something within this newsgroup.
I don't know exactly how Erado San did it but I remember reading the list and agreeing with everything that was listed to some extent or another. I was loathe, however, to add my opinion when I knew it was exactly the same as 50 other people.

Unfortunately, I'm not really up to that kind of a task. I barely know HTML, have no home page, and certainly couldn't put together anything nearly as elegant as Erado's legendary Question Times. What I could do is mostly limited to this forum, and possibly the Community Site: I could set up a thread for this purpose and then compile the various suggestions (and whether people support them) in one relatively straightforward, e-mailable text. It would not be Question Time, but it might fit the Shôgun's criterion of "concise presentation"...?

Hi there,

I won't mind putting up Question Time 3 in some form, but before we start asking things we want in it, I'd sure like to know what's in the expansion to start with.

I'll Send an e-mail to CA to see what kind of feedback they could use to enhance the features of the expansion set.

Atta-boy E_S! Let's figure out what the people want, pass it on to the developers, and then hope/pray they are in a possition to accomidate us.

Given your question time experience you are definitely the best man to put this together + if you need any help just e-mail me, Rob or Anssi Hakkinen.
