I run WE on XP pro and so does Jacque Schtrapp. I PMed him when I began reading that so many people were having trouble with Shogun+XP and he said he wasn't having any issues. Neither one of has done anything unusual and neither one of us has experienced any problems using it. I have installed, uninstalled, and reinstalled numerous times and never had even a minor glitch. I wish I knew how to help others who are having trouble.

Hey Jeebus, I actually remember that conversation even though it was around 4AM. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/dizzy.gif

I also run WE on XP pro and haven't really had any problems. The only thing I remember was a CTD once in a while when I had to click more than once to grap a unit out of a castle. Reinstalled recently and it hasn't happened since. I have used all kinds of different settings and screen sizes and everything works ok. Hope you guys can figure it out so we can carry STW onto the next generation of platforms

Cheers guys I'll give it a go tonight......nice to see people still read the shogun Forum. I want to get involved with this title again as I have been reading about all the work Barocca has done in updating STW I've seen screen shots and it looks Brilliant

Hi Fearless, I agree with you those screen shots are superb. The Mod is actually for MTW/VI....I hope you solve your problem with Shogun, I know Toda can't get into the foyer, just hangs on 'Logging On'.....XP/Pro...Good Luck

Hi Orda Khan you said that Barocca Shogun mod is for MTW/VI Does that mean I only have to install into my MTW/VI directory for it to work? Does that mean I won't need to install shogun on my XP PC. Cheers

Try running the game in win98 compatability modeRight click on the application/shortcut on your desktop choose properties, from the compatability tab, choose win98..easy huh. This helped one of our clan members greatly,he can now enter the game foyer whereas before it just hung on the logging in screen.
Hope this helps

The running in compatibility mode feature is something I've tried for many many games that didn't run right in XP, but unfortunately I've never seen it make any difference for me. A game that won't run or has a certain glitch in XP will have exactly the same problem under compatibility mode. It's too bad no one knows exactly what the problem is or EA just doesn't release an official fix for this.
