Hi all,

In order to bring completion with the political systems in my mod I need to find a way to induce "Heretics" (slaves) and instability to the provinces and combine it with the economic growth of the city. The more advanced the city the bigger the number of slaves. This can either be done by inducing Jewish or Heretics. Is there a way to do that?

You can make agents that increase the heretics in a province. just copy a priests entry and change the entry for the religion it effects to heretcis.

i think it may be possible to make a building do this as well. same theory copy a church and change the religion it effects to heretic. I THINK. youll have to check the 2nd one yourself.

i know for a fact the 1st one works ive tested it myslf

The problem with buildings is that they belong to a ralture and then you give them a faith propagation. I used the Heretics but it gives me an unknown calture massage. How did you do it for agents?

Have to check though ... can I use negative values to faith propagation???? (most probably no)

well make farmlands (the most slave intensive areas of greece) give a +5 to heretics or whatever Culture you want.
you could do this with other buildings too.
thanks dessa

You can give a negative value to a faith for an agent. BUT after a while youll start getting funny things like it saying a population of the province has 100% Christian and 80% heretic, or other weird stuff like that. It wont give you an error, but it does start to act up all funny.

Ok if this is obvious just ignore me Im kinda new at this.

I thought the only way to induce instability in a province is to change the rebellious number under Region attributes in startpos. Not sure how high the number goes to but I've gone up to 7. Portugal is 4 and the Almohads normally have rebellions even after they start building better castles.
Havnt tried this but you could also change the starting culture of that province to Heretic, but obviously this would fade, especially as you build.

All this along with a new trade called slaves, this can help explain why the rebellions get less and less.

Or you could just do the agent thing. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

Hi,

The problem is that this should not happen due to agent interferences. This should happen due to build up. Since the progress at these times was directly connected to slave labour there numbers should increase to the number of the general population as progress moves in. So the buildings should induce this.

Since the buildings belong to specific cultures then if a negative value is placed for religion propagation then they might just act just like that. I have not tested this theory ... yet

Hey Komninos I just realised somthing, special events reduce happiness and influences religion right?
I wonder if you can mod the events to tie in with each building upgrade or at least by a specific time period.
I think I will investigate this further, if I dont get back to you Komninos you can call me a "malaga" all you want http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/joker.gif

Hi Lord Guilt,

fist ... it is not "malaga" it is mala'ka and it can get from friendly to very insulting ... espesialy if it comes from a girl http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif too many Greeks in London ... any way ...

You can look at the events but they seem to be hard coded If on the other hand you find a way to manipulate them ... I need them to make the Persians pop up and a sertain time frame.
=====================================================
I will try to test several theories this week end and try to get back to you ...

Hi all,

this worked a bit so ... here it is ...
In the buildings I used the frame of culture propagation with a negative value. If the value is < -1 then things get freaky and you get origins of 70% pagan and 30% Heretics ... so values at -0.1 till -0.3 look good. But revolts were not seen ... Well there weren't any big slave revolts in ancient Greece ... I f you exclude the slaves working at the mines and other hard labour the slaves were on a much better condition that the Roman slaves. Many fought as auxiliaries with the Greek armies supporting there masters. I will put a small negative value to the happiness so to make things a bit worse. The difference is that the Catholics (Greek Democrats) will have buildings that would reduce the effects of induced slaves.

All these have to be retested ... though http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/rolleyes.gif

Komnine these are some nice ideas Another idea is the introduction of metoikoi immigrants from other cities who dont have any rights but just live and work there, a good idea would be to make the merchants to increase their numbers just a little for the flavour not on the edge of a revolt http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif I think that the devs stated that the merchants increased the number of jews so one can make the jews metoikoi (of course there werent any metoikoi in sparta so they shouldnt do any trading iirc).
As for the events they can be manipulated if the mod becames flexible at dates http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/rolleyes.gif meaning that you can change the mongol parchment and description of the event to persian BUT the date remains the same (1230ad) http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/frown.gif unless the CA provides us with the code.... http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/rolleyes.gif
