Can the +4 morale bonus given on Expert setting be altered at all - and if so how? I like the challenge of expert but I'm not too keen on seeing most units fighting down to the last man.

Noodle,

I think the Hard setting is the same as expert apart from the morale bonus ie. same tactics, strategy etc. Do a quick search and you should find some threads that detail the differences between difficulty settings.

Thanks.

I did search before posting but found nothing about actually changing the expert morale modifier, specifically if it can be changed at all.

From what I gather the Hard setting reduces the morale modifer to +2 - which is the level I would like to reduce Expert to, at least to try - but Hard also reduces the troop effectivness bonus from +30% to +15% and that's something I'd like to leave intact.

I would like to play the expert strategic game along with the normal game unmodified tactical units. A separate setting for each would be perfect.

Expert level isn't really that hard. I see no reason why not to let AI have better morale, as it lacks good battle tactics. If not the morale bonus for AI on expert, most of the battles would be propably incredibly boring. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/dizzy.gif

I wouldn't agree to that anymore when facing an 8 star byz gen with a non peasant army.
Expert can be very annoying. It all depends on faction selection and game development though.
