I wondering if anyone has created a mod combining the style that brition was split up in viking expansion to the enire map of medieval. So instead of argon starting as one province the same area could be split into three or four seperate areas. etc.
This would make the game huge...... and take a campaign that would last weeks into months.
I always disliked that the province sort of summarised the area and that entire factions could be destroyed in a turn or two. Playing as the english i was obliterated the french in one turn in which my armies layed waste to all 5 province of the french.
Also a, normal game would start interesting but after a 100 years it would be me as a super power vs 2 or 3 nations, with the other factions destroyed or reduced to pathetic nations. I would like it to be a 100 years and i am still battling the french in an epic struggle for control of the french provience, mean while at the same time trying to settle north england from rebellious lords and raiding scots. Campaigns into spain in which you do not end up conquering the area in a matter of years...
hmm at the end of the game and most of the other nation are alive and capable. It sort of get sad when at the end of the game the europe is conquered by one nation streching right down into the holy lands...

Good thoughts, Glor13, but I think there's a limited number of regions that the game can handle, about a 100 or so, not sure at the moment, so the scope you are thinking of wouldn't be possible with this engine. Perhaps Rome: Total War will give you the flexibility to do that...

Oh, and welcome to the .ORG http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

Hello there Glor13. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wave.gif Welcome

You are one dedicated gamer - my eyes go http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/dizzy.gif at the prospects a bigger campaign But if that would mean the AI factions could hold on longer as a viable threat, I'm all for it.

Glor13;

Another reason to be looking forward to R:TW, my friend.

Meanwhile, try playing Wes Whitaker's MedMod if your looking for an AI that fights back, lol

You'll find that large empires still occur, but ther're usually controlled by the AI http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/shock.gif

I'm not that good a gamer evidently, as I find myself busy simply trying to hold on to what I have well into the high period. It's neat
