View Full Version : Tracking Units?

Hi, I can't see this mentioned anywhere - but it seems that it should be possible to click on a unit and have the camera lock onto the unit and follow it automatically as it moves.

Is there any way of doing this?

Thanks, Hobbes

I do not know to be honest. Of course there is the double clicking on a unit to zoon straight there, and you can auto-track the shots from certain units... I'm not sure about tracking one units movements, but it may be possible.

Some of the other guys may know the answer.

Anyway welcome and enjoy your stay

Thank you Emperor. I thought I saw this happen when I first started playing, but it looks as though I must have imagined it. Shame it would have been a good feature - well for the few seconds before a battle is joined.

Cheers, Hobbes

If the unit is clicked on it will also be highlighted in the minimap... slightly larger icon I do believe... then again I havn't seriously played MTW in at least 3 months.

Greetings and welcome to the Org Hobbes. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wave.gif (Where's Calvin? http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif )

The closest thing to I can think of to what you are asking is the follow missile for things like catapults, etc.

Is there a reason you'd want to do this? Just curious.

Thank you. No real reason - it was just bugging me as I thought it was possible, but couldn't figure it out.

It would have been nice to be able to 'ride' into battle with one of the units rather then have to keep pressing forward to keep up. No big deal.
