View Full Version : Infinite Queue?

I've been out of the loop.
Is there any plans for the possibility of an infinite queue of units?
Since units come from the population, it can't go on for ever, and money could put on restraints.
BUT, who gets tired of checking training queues every six turns?
How about a choice of putting a queue, or even looping queue order (ex legion, legion, archer, legion, pike,) and have that loop until a certain set of cercumstances that you can set, for example.
Loop Queue : unit types
Stop Queue of
Population Drops Below: X
Treasury Drops Below: Y

And if a queue's cease circumstances come up, then you are alerted, and options for further actions are now necessary.

I think this is not an over all bad idea, however I am just a little concerned about the fact that in the end of the day one has so many things to consider and one might almost forget to battle...probably not, but still...

forget the unit queue - just be able to "raise" as many troops as population and build req allow you in any given turn - just like hiring mercs in MTW. Simple and more realistic.

sounds great but what happens when you become big and all your opponents are down to a small population

same thing as when you own all the provinces in TW now - you crush opponents http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/joker.gif at least with being able to build multiple units per city - you can recover from devastating defeats more readily than currently, plus unit production will be more about money and city size and development.

Basically COnstantinople should be able to build an army far quicker than some undeveloped backwater http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/idea.gif

That is a great idea It is a pain in the royal ass when you have an empire so large that you are fighting off the Golden Horde and crushing a rebellion in Ireland, and you have to click through each and every province training your troops and building your buildings http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/angry.gif It takes like 15 minutes

Yup, thats when I thought of it. I own about 80 or 90%, just Ireland(byzantine), and the far east of the map holding out. And every 6turns, I have to spend forever, click, click, click, click, click, arrow, rinse, wash, repeat.

I donno about as many in one turn, but perhaps bigger cities, train two at a time? and the top few three units at a time? Or if its a longer than one turn train, two blocks and three blocks of development at a time.
