Since installing 1.07 I've noticed that altering the "default" size of units to 100 (for infantry) has had an unexpected consequence in the total number of men in an Army.
I prefer to keep my unit size to 100 men, but to do so have had to reduce the unit size slider bar to "default", since 1.07.
But the result of this has been to restrict the maximum size of an army to 960 men, instead of the old 1600.
I was a little "put out" by this.
The only way round this, that I could find, was to edit the base unit size, in the 1.07-unit-prod file back to 60.
So now I can increase the slider bar to next-to-max. to give a unit size of 100, and a max. army size of 1600 men again.
Not tried this in the game so far, but can't see why it shouldn't be ok.
This will be ok for me, but I'm not suggesting that anyone else needs to do it.
Hope this helps anyone who would like the keep the unit size as it was.
Everything else looks great so far.
rbb.

just thought i would post an addition here isntead of creating a new topic- I have increased the size of my units (200 for spearmen, 150 for infantry, 100 for archers, etc etc) because i was fed up with the game building units at half the speed when unit size is on huge. unfortunately this brings up the problem of max men in an army- my stacks get filled out with about 8-9 men so I end up with a huge amount of stacks, making it very cluttered indeed. anyone know how I can fix this, i.e change the max men in each stack?

Stacksize is not moddable.

However you can use the same work-around as rbb did. Set the unit size slider to a larger size. The stacksize will also get larger accordingly. Setting it to Huge will indeed make the units train twice as long, but then again, life is tough http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/gc-party2.gif
