Anyone have any ideas as to how the diplomatic aspect of the game has evolved in RTW?
I sincerely hope that it is slightly more complex than there only being 3 states (allied, neutral and at war) and only one type of treaty open to you when in any one of these states :/
I dont want anything really complex but maybe something like military alliances (e.g. faction A and faction B agree to attack faction C), trading agreements or right of passage agreements (e.g. allowing you to send your troops through an allies territory to attack a province on the other side of their empire or to help relieve a siege in one of their province you cant reach on your own) would be nice.
The thing id most love to see is the ability to impose terms in a treaty e.g. if you win a war your opponent must cede these provinces, give you that much cash etc
Diplomacy was always the bit of the game that annoyed me a bit due to its simplicity :/
Before anyone says it, yes, i understand that the series is called 'Total War' for a reason and if i want serious diplomacy then i should go play Civ or something, but id just really like to see it developed a bit, i doubt many (if any) of these ideas will make it into the game due to the designers concentrating on making battles bigger and better but since they decided to put a campaign map in the game they should try and develop that a bit too...
