So, I've started playing Shogun again, to my surprise it still lingered on my HD. However, there's a annoying quirk now, which I'm sure wasn't happening when I played it the last time.
Anything spoken in the Throne room, as well as the poems you hear when a Daimyo dies or an heir is born, sound like on fast forward, meaning you can't understand anything. The strange part is, that the campaign music and event sounds, movie clips and all battle sounds/voices are normal. Is this a known problem and/or do any of you have some explanation/suggestions?
I'm not really keen on doing a new install, but I suppose that's what I have to do...

Hi.

I am also getting this error.

It occurs when the game attempts to play one of the .mp3 sounds.

The .wav files are played properly, but the .mp3 files generate this error.

For me, the game crashes with an error reported in DDhelp, which is part of the DirectX thing.

Anyone who can shed more light on this and possible fixes?

I posted again in the apothecary a while back, check it out. I haven't meddled with my settings much, so I can't say if the suggested stuff works, try asking Kraellin again...
