MTW crashes

Just bought a new computer,
p4 2.8ghz
800 MHZ FSB
1 GB DDR400
128 MB radeon 9200
200GB Diamondmax HD
Win XP Home
I got everything set up and installed TW. To my dismay when I run the program it gets to the menu and after about 5 seconds in the menus the game quits and i end up back at the desktop. Any ideas?

First guess = Radeon drivers.

Try doing to ATI's website and checking to see that you have the latest drivers for your videop card. If you don't then upgrade to the latest set available. if you do then try locating an older driver. ATI has known driver issues with their catalyst series of drivers. I have a R9700 and I am using a six month old beta non-catalyst driver.

Some others will be along shortly to offer their advice. Let us know if you manage to figure it out.

Yes, very likely the driver. The latest one (3.8) is still a bit flawed (for some games), so try to avoid that one. Try the 3.7 .

It just crashed in the middle of a mp battle, any ideas why it would do that?
