Any chance of one day combining our collective bias into a feasible Byzantine campaign mod...there's not one out there Ive tried my hand at it but I've still got tons of small things to tweak before I release the stupid thing thats taken over part of my life.

Dont bother with them...they didnt meet TW series yet, i cant explain it else http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif
There is nothing more strategic than leading those men at battle.
i even wonder how can they call such games strategic (warcraft 3 is excellent game but...battles tended to be as...RPG style can I say?)
Anyway thx to all for the warm welcome http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif
Yesterday I managed to make the mod i mentioned above and pretty liked it. Lets see whats next http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

Greek Citizenship ( as i explained to my GF as seriously as i could ) : You go to the citizenship authorisation office , you sign up a form and you are asked to enter a room , the rooms is almost empty but there is a table , there is a kilo of feta cheese in there ... once you finish it you are a greek citizen ( she hated fetaat that point ) http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

Man if you come to greece with these ideas all the progressive-internationalist-communists-anarchists-anti-greek(yes there are some of those*cough*traitors funded by government*cough*(rainbow))-leftwingers will charge on you to cut you to pieces...
Unfortunately the last 10 years greece (aka media and the governing minority) lives in an internationalistic nation-tradition-self-destructional spirit http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/frown.gif

I've done it before and I'll do it again...I'm gonna try and release my frustratingly delayed in the next month or so. Reasons for delay:
a) university
b) I hate modding small things
c) I'm nearing end of exams
d) I finish a degree in history, weehee
e) The world shall know the power of the Klibanophori
The deal is a Dark Age mod set around AD 709, I've had to take historical licenses and cram historical events in a space of 2-3 years to get what I want.
The main theme is Byzantium since its got two factions in the mod: yep....2 factions.
Byzantium is in a civil war, Emperor Theodosius II faces a rebellion by pretender Emperor Leo I the Syrian in the Asian provinces. Theodosius can rely on the loyalty of the European forces but even then the European forces are occupied by an unstable situation in Italy and the outlying provinces. Leo has the support of all Asian provinces and a few island outposts, fortunately, Asia Minor as a strong defensive set up in Asia Minor. Leo also has a strong army behind to attack Theodosius.
Both however must keep in mind the threat of the Ummayad Caliphate poising dangerously close to the capital with a large fleet and army ready by land and sea. At any moment the Caliph can intervene and lay siege to the capital. At any moment the Caliph could also attack Asia Minor and destroy Byzantine military strength there. Either way, both Emperors must keep in mind the Caliphate. To regain sole soveerignty in the ROman Empire means to do so with a weakened empire after a civil war.
The Caliphate enjoys a large and wealthy empire. With a large army and a huge treasury, anything is possible. To the West lay greater glories while to the north, the prize that is Constantinople.
Khazars
Avars
Franks
Burgundians
Visigoths
Lombards
Mericans
Danes
Slavs
etc
etc
Some units have been recycled into units relevant to the period: eg.
- Turcoman horseman are Expert Turkish Mercenaries avaiable to the steppe regions only
- Janissary Heavy Infantry are the Pharganoi Bodyguards from Ferghana (yes, they are real)
- Ottoman Sipahi are Mardaite light cavalry, they are resettled guerillas who caused the Caliphate many ehadaches with their raids
Some new units coming up in a separate mod pack
- Klibanophori
- Skutatoi heavy infantry
Yep, heres the hype, but the substance is frustratingly close yet to far.
Back to work.

For a future mod, possibly doing a late Rome one.
But the one I would like to do most would be an Akritae frontier warfare mod.
Using large maps of Asia Minor, Balkans and Italy to construct a huge theatre of war in each region:
The most challenging one would be the Balkans, if 90% of the provinces in the Balkan map are mountainous, imagine the hard fighting the Byzantines would have to do to get a piece of this frustratingly mountainous region. Every pinched battles means u have to fight uphill or cross rivers and all that. Perfect for enemy factions though.
The most appealing might be Italy. To re-unite the peninsular in another hard campaign of fighting.
Italy (early)
Balkans (High)
Asia Minor (Late)
I can dream can't I???
That chik in the pik roks.
Well hurry, I am anxious to see that http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif
