Your avatar automatically alters with your post count. When you get 500 posts, promotion to senior member status or moderator status you can choose your own.

There is a custom avatar feature but I don't know how that works. You can also request a Shogun related avatar but you are stuck with it until you hit 500 posts as it does not update.

Thank you, sir... That information is not related in the help section.

That is miss (or Lady if you prefer) not sir.

May i by your name assume that you are a fellow norwegian?

Either works fine by me. Although generally speaking I don't execute people for getting it wrong Well, not when they have no reason to know better anyway, since in the world of the net you are always assumed to be male until it is said otherwise. So no hard feelings http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

Froggy, I must admit I made the assumption that you were a bloke at first... http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/dizzy.gif Til I found out otherwise later

Maybe you should give yourself a MTW or VI Princess-style Avatar?

What? And lose my archer Never I was so glad I got to keep my avatar when I was bumped up to moderator, I love my archer because it is unique - all the others face right. I've no idea why mine is different, I didn't exactly choose it. I PMed TosaInu to request a Shogun archer avatar like other people in the sword dojo thread and the one I was assigned faced left. I have always liked the Shogun avatatrs and the archer is my favourate, quite fitting since I tend to go with archer heavy armies http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

My name and avatar etc are carefully chosen to be neutral - there are many forums where being known to be female is a horrible disadvantage. I have read a couple of forums today where known female posters were talked about in a very insulting and degrading manner (Hey X, what are you wearing? You're lucky I'm married or I'd be doing you I am sooo cool you couldn't keep your hands off me. Hey guys which is better gamecharacterA and Via in a threesome or gamecharacterB and Via? GamecharacterB is only 14 but hey I'm progressive ), on many forums my posts would be disregarded because girls don't play games and they are rubbish at them anyway so what would you know? The org is different, I have always said this and that I have never seen anyone treated with disrespect because of their sex or country of origin.

EDIT:BTW the answer to the question posed above was I can't choose, hey I'm virile I'll take all three at once Ya I'm da Man If you are neutral you never get pulled into these things.

Very good points.

I see now why you have made the choices you have. Anyway your right about the Org being different, Chivalry is very important here.

Hmm, I wouldn't say chivalry so much as common decency. On the org you treat everyone with respect no matter who or what you are and who or what they are. Things get heated from time to time, especially in the tavern but it is very rare for things to get truly nasty. Chivalry implies a little more along the lines of going out of your way to be nice to certain members above others and that isn't really the case here. Thankfully. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

Now if only everywhere else would follow suit....

Well maybe Frogbeastegg you should make your knighting ceremony feminen ie:

A knight is sworn to valour
His heart knows only virtue
His blade defends the helpless
His might upholds the weak
His word speaks only truth
His wrath undoes the wicked

and change it to:

A knight is sworn to valour
Her heart knows only virtue
Her blade defends the helpless
Her might upholds the weak
Her word speaks only truth
Her wrath undoes the wicked

I could do but there are a couple of problems with that. Firstly it is a quote from the film Dragonheart, I keep meaning to add in the quote reference but I always forget. It was in there originally but it got deleted somehow. Secondly women never get to be knights, ever. You get lumbered with 'dame' or 'lady' instead :shudder:

But then again there is a first time for everything and if I alter the wording it won't be a quote anymore so I won't have to fiddle around with the wording too much. Not to mention I quite like your version. I don't need to be anonymous here anyway.

Ah what the heck I'm off to edit it, thanks for the idea Scipio http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif
