I was thinking: in STW each unit had its own mon, so why not to have something like that in medieval. Each unit bearing different emblem. The problem is I don't know if this can be done. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/confused.gif

well in shogun i think CA thought it smart because the small number of factions made it so you could easily disguigish factions by its colour and then you could have the big mons as you say but in MTW the large amount of factions made it harder to distinguish maybe try the unit pieces file to make them come up on the campaign map but for battles i do not know.
