Is there any way of finding out the skill level of a Campaign once you've started it? I'm currently romping through Europe in a game I started a couple of weeks ago and I can't remember what skill level I chose. It's the first campaign I've played. I've already seen off the French, Italians and Poles

My god is it addictive http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif

Fight a battle. Then quit the game.
Go look in the battle log files, it will tell you the difficulty.

There must be other simpler ways but I cant think of any.

That was simple enough thanks As I thought, I'm playing on easy. Haven't lost a battle yet and the map has gone very red (I'm playing English). Not sure why i set it to easy, I probably didn't intend to continue with it until the end. Not sure what to do now, I'm half way to world domination, but need more of a challenge http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/confused.gif

I know on a campaign, sometimes the end-game can become tedious (when the result is not in doubt), but you might pick up a few new tricks as you go. There is a lot in this game that isn't immediately obvious when you're playing

Or, maybe try another faction, perhaps a non-catholic one (as they can be very different in campaign and battle terms).

If you feel comfortable, move up a difficulty level and see how you get on. Difficulty level is entirely up to you. Play on whatever level you enjoy, simple as that.

Have fun

I started another Campaign as English on Normal Level and it's a lot more challenging, especially in battles. I usually beat the AI on Normal playing battles anyway. I'm doing fairly well, have all the British Isles, Flanders, Normandy, Anjou, Aquataine, Brittany, Toulouse, Champagne and Ile de France. It's really annoying the way my ships always get destroyed by an enemy though. Every time I come up against one. Is this a weakness of the English?

I've found that a good way to take a Province is to strike when rebels have taken it. I won Champagne and Ile de France that way. It's more painless as you don't suffer the consequences of a counter invasion by your, now, enemy.
