Hey, has anyone thought of making a Discworld mod, set aound the Circle Sea with Ankh-Morpork, and Klatch and so on (I'm sure I read a thingy about it before, can't find it if I did though).Or perhaps a Scotland mod, with all the clans fighting, and the occasional English invasion.

I'm not sure about the first one, but you idea for the Scotland mod is an excellent twist All the Scotland mods I've heard of were simply to add Scotland as a faction on the MTW map. I think you'd have lots of interested people in playing a Scottish Clans mod.
Good thinking Malcolm You'd better get busy http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/joker.gif

I do, and I am happy to take any suggestions as well, eg. clans, troops (apart from the obvious).

Also, if anyone out there has a large map of Scotland, and a bit of England on it, I would really appreciate a copy of it, or I might have to use the high resolution VI map, with the bit with Scotland on it copied out, which also means that the small clans could not be in it.
Much appreciated. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif

Try posting a request in the Dungeon/Apothecary forum. There are many patrons that are quite talented at designing graphics. Perhaps you can find someone who already possesses such a map, will help you make one, or can show you a thread devoted to a how to... method.
Good luck

I would do that, but I am only a junior patron, thus rendering me useless at posting in the Dungeon. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/mecry.gif

Actually it is my understanding that there has been a recent policy change to allow Junior Patrons to post in the Dungeon forum. Perhaps one of the mods can confirm or disabuse us of this notion. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif

Junior Patrons can now post replies only in the Dungeon - Alchemist lab forum and in the Story/PBM forums.
After you get promoted we can copy this to the Dungeon. In the meantime, I've put a notice in the Dungeon - Alchemist lab forum regarding this Clans of Scotland mod and a request for information pointing them back to this topic. You can find this topic here: Clans of Scotland mod (http://www.totalwar.org/cgi-bin/forum/ikonboard.cgi?act=ST;f=5;t=12612;r=1;&#top).

Whats the time period to be from what to what. I can't wait to see screaming brothers hit the English Lines witha power of ancestors lost to the British, slashing and hacking, can't wait to see the mod.
Anyone have any info on the Munroe Clan? I have ancestors from it... http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif
And how is this mod going?

You can make Wu Tang Clan as one of the factions. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wave.gif http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/tongue.gif http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/smokin.gif

I've started making the map, and I'm putting in some battle music tonight. I'll try and put in the Munroe clan, but the Wu Tang Clan is probably not going to be in it.

MacLennen is a sept of Logan, which has the crest of a stake going through a heart (I think thats it), and the motto Hoc Majorum Virtus, translated means This is the valour of my ancestors

The Scottish mod sounds great.
If you can mod the the text of events that affect the game, you should have ships be destroyed by mysterious long-necked sea creatures instead of storms.
Looking forward to some clan wars so much that I am scanning the net for kilt patterns even as I type.
Duke Malcolm

I'm going to put in new events if I can, but kilts may be hard, I could try a checkered pattern of the clan colours, which will be the main colours of the tartan.

Not trying to hijack the thread or anything, but has anyone ever contemplated a civil war mod with an American map? the game already has simple handgunners and arbequisers that can be modded, cavalry and such even though the game would seem to be like thousands of arcers going at it... still look cool though.

Put the Fraser Clan on either side of Loch Ness. A google search will turn up plenty of info, you could do the same with most clans. Also search for a map that shows you where the clans were. The Frasers are an interesting Clan because they were Normans, they went further north than any other Normans and were the only ones to take up the title of Clan. They were not always loyal to the English however and would fight against them as often as with them (Simon Fraser would have made just as good a double crosser in Braveheart as Robert de Bruce did (who he was very close to, he even married his sister)) and his head actually ended up next to William Wallaces on the tower bridge (Simon Fraser was the last man to have his head chopped off on the Tower Green, ironically it was ordered by the English royalty that he had helped onto the throne earlier in his life).

I've already got a map with clan locations, but I'll get info on clan heroes. The Frasers are already in it, as are the MacDonalds, Wallaces, MacGregors, Urquhart, Logan, and Campbell.
