I was wondering if a princess marries a very good general, and her father doesn't have any legitimate heirs, then he aceedes the throne. My best friend Ryan had an instance where his Princess (French) married a general named Louis de Bourbon, and when King Louis V died without legitimate heirs, then the next emperor was Louis VI de Bourbon. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/dizzy.gif has that happened to anyone else?

As far as i know, marrying a princess alone does not put a general in line to the throne. Most likely this general was an uncle to the current king (he'll still have the crown in his unit pic denoting he's of royal blood), and if a king dies with no heir, the game will sometimes ascend a general of royal blood. Of course, marrying nieces to uncles is likely to get some children with inbred vices.

Yes, it should be possible, but it's not. At least it wasn't up to VI 2.00. Since the patch I didn't check again, but I doubt they enabled it, it would get a bigger mention in the readme. But who knows...

The stock of sirnames for each faction is limited so you see many individuals who share the same name.

It is only the HRE and Men of Novgorod factions where a commoner can become the leader.

I thought only the HRE were the only ones that could do that. Are you sure that the people of Nopvograd can do this too?

Yes... and if so, how?

The People of Novgorod can not, because the Grand Duke's title is hereditary.

I usually use the gals to spy while they are young, then when they get over twenty or so I mary them off to the generals to ensure loyalty and up thier stats. Does any one have any hard figures on how much of a bump you get for having a gen. married off to a princess?

I think I heard along time ago that sometimes a really powerful General can take over as King when their are no other heirs. I can't remember it ever happening to me though.

No, this isn't possible for any faction, save the HRE.
