Hello all

Here is a quick introduction from a newbie MTW player. I started playing STW in May. I became quickly addicted, then moved onto MTW.

I'm not a veteran gamer. STW is actually the first PC game I've ever owned or played. I was interested in finding a war game that was fairly realistic. (I'm a grad student in political science with a background in military & civil defense.) STW exceeded my expectations. It combines politics, strategy, and tactics. And it's amazing fun. I didn't imagine that I would be so immersed in the action Even between games I found myself planning and plotting...

I liked MTW and Viking Invasion even better, although I miss the atmosphere and the animations (visits from emissaries, assassinations) from STW.

***I'd like to compliment Guild members & moderators for this informative & interesting board.***

Before registering, I browsed the board for information & ideas. You've answered many of my questions. For example, I didn't understand why I couldn't build firegalleys even though I had constructed a dockyard. I found the answer in one of the posts. I've also found much useful information about tactics, troop comparisons, history, and more.

Many thanks http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wave.gif Hello and welcome to the Org, Hajduk

Thank you for the kind words. I'm glad you find these forums as helpful and useful as we all do. It is the fine people who hang around the Guild that make it what it is. Stick around, participate, and soon you will be a part of it too.

Consider yourself fortunate that you started your PC gaming experience with the best games out there. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/cool.gif

Ha Jacque, this is probably really true... http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

After STW & MTW, I've been disappointed, even felt cheated, after buying & trying a few non-TW games.

[Even between games I found myself planning and plotting...
]

Is'nt that sad? I found myself doing that yesterday while doing other things - my english had defeated the french and run the germans into switzerland with 40 men left and the spanish decide to come storming up through aquitaine. Blood will paint the ground - when I get the courage to go back in... http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

Hi Hadjuk Im also new to the game(Bought three weeks ago) I find myself planning plotting my next move a lot. Sometimes during school my mind begins to wander to Total War, and I start planning the compostion of armies writing it down on paper without realizing that my history teacher has been standing behind me for the last five minutes. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/eek.gif

http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wave.gif Helloooooo Athenian Thanks for coming out of the shadows. This does explain that feeling of being watched everytime I visit these forums. Of course, my paranoia explains it too. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/joker.gif

Today I happened to watch Yanni Live at the Acropolis. A beautiful venue for a concert Now a real live Athenian decides to de-lurk here in these forums. Coincidence? I think not. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/joker.gif http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/pat.gif

A warm welcome to the new members http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wave.gif You're dead right in choosing this forum because of its information provided and the excellence of the game itself.

If you are patient enough you might just survive (not literally) the release of RTW, another very promising act of CA and the Total War series...

I raise my glass and drink the wine...that I have so much deserved after having been battle-hardened by these damn Germans http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif (I don't know why I said that).
