ye i like the hilly maps, makes for some interesting games 4v4, i just wish krae and tosa were still making maps im sure most of the vets would snap them up straight away i know there are map packs available can someone make a comprehensive COMMUNITY map pack, infact ill do it and upload it, i think the prob is people not wanting to download from that 3d downloads thing or whatever it is can only certain files be downloaded from the org? I may try my hand at making some maps myself.

thats is what is lackin Swoosh .. we used to have comprehensive map packs that we knew were standard now there seems to be different alternatives which makes it a little complicated .. i guess the need for them has gone because the flat maps that CA bundled with the game http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/frown.gif

I think there is a MP specific mappack assembled by Sko ...available on the .NET. I have it and some others too, but last night I asked Amp if he has it too, and he said no, he never downloads such maps since hardly anybody uses them. Go figure. I thought at least the guys who also frequently visit the .NET should at least download that mappack. I've never been able to play on these maps in MP, some are large and would be great for 4v4's...

Oh, and happy birthday, baz

Back in June some large maps were hosted... Very convenient for 4v4, and really good looking. The problem is more finding 4 players

As a side remark the summer CWC game between Celtiberos and FF was on Asia Minor and Palestine 1112, both large maps in mappack2. There is hope

Yes, Sko has assembled an MP specific mappack. It has very good maps in it, especially the maps made by Orda khan.

Hi Swoosh

Look for the maps o_mizuland.......these are the maps made by Orda Khan. Some nice big maps there for 4v4 games.

Hello Swoosh.....
Yes Jochi is right I made a total of 20 Mizuland maps and also some others that were named and/or historical...
For example I created a more accurate Kalka and Liegnitz.
All my maps start with the prefix O_ and all are large http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif
( I like 4v4 too )

For some reason the days when many different kinds of terrain was seen hosted have disappeared. I did see someone comment once about custom maps in the foyer. It was kind of derogitory and implied that We have enough maps already why do we want more? Even Sko had to root through the custom map packs, leaving out those with more than a small bump because so many players still have the dead flat fair for all map syndrome burnt into their souls http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/rolleyes.gif

Personally I would delete nearly all the standard maps because the majority are so repetitive. Has anyone else noticed that FlatInland, from attackers perspective, all have a hill on the right , dip on the left?

I've had some nice comments about my maps but even so they are rarely hosted, I think you can put it down to Medieval apathy.
I can email a zipfile to you if you like, just give me a shout

Have you seen some of the nasty prices for broadband about? I saw an article about broadband in South africa, was like £70 sterling a month with a 3gb limit a month. Now thats awful :/

Then, apparently theres a swedish company (not telia) introducing 10mbit home lines for around £27 sterling including some phone calls. Wish I was swedish. And not just for the fabled swedish blondes http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/joker.gif

There can be no doubt that broadband costs, but its all about what ya consider important, eh?

While my broadband connection hurts the house-hold economy, wtf, it's part of the 'good life', and I'd rather see the cable TV go over the side first, lol TV mostly pounds sand with a mallet, while the broadband is a neccesity with multiple online game players in the house http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

Just a matter of choice, I 'spose.........

4 Mbit download, 640 Kbit upload, no limits for 88 euros (about 57 UK pounds) a month overhere (the Netherlands). A bargain compared to my previous 56k dial up phone bill http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/birthday.gif

Im paying £23 for 512kb both ways (its standard for either 128 or 256 up so im pretty lucky). At the moment UK ISP's are still trialling a 1mb line (strangely 2mb has been available for as long as 512?&#33http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif and 2mb is far too expensive as the upload is still capped at 256.

Im happy with it tho. stays over 60kb up and down so I cant argue http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

I can't even get broadband where I live. My 56k has pretty good download times, for a 56k. Webpages that I go to a lot load up right quick though. Thank God for large sticks of RAM.
