Not much of a mod really, just a new campaign, some faction changes. Covers the period between 1453 (fall of Constantinople (all of Byzantine empire rebel) to the end of the English Civil War (when Cromwell defeats the Scots in the English Civil War. I will post updates about it here. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

FRANC ARCHER - 1415 >

http://www.harnois.fr/hm/hm35-i10.jpg

Franc Archers (free archers)often wore the arms of their own city. Each archer had to provide his own arms, armour and clothing, unless he was to poor that he needed help from neighbours. This longbowman would therefore seem to be from the increasingly prosperous urban middle class.

Info from B.Cornwells website

Quote[/b] ]Q: I enjoyed 'The Archer's Tale" and am now reading "Vagabond." I hope this will be at least a trilogy. My own noval in progress takes place about 100 years later. Have you ever heard the term "franc-archer"? I am trying to find out just what a franc-archer was. Charles VII had them in his army in medieval France. Your battle scenes, especially Crecy are extremely realistic. Hope to hear from you. thanks, Gilbert Gorman

A: Charles VII established the Franc-archers (early to mid 15th century) - every parish in France was supposed to equip one archer and send him to the king's service, and in return the parish was excused a certain amount of taxes. I don't know how effective this was - by Charles's reign the bow was losing its effectiveness, thanks to artillery, but it's certainly part of the French response to the English long-bow - an attempt to adopt the bow as their own weapon.

Another quote I found

Quote[/b] ]The oldest attested form of fanion (1469) is found in an edict of the King of France Louis XI (1461-1483). The edict organized a corps of 16,000 franc-archers, who constituted the core of the national infantry. Each of the 4 Captain-Generals was preceded by a soldier bearing a white commanding pennant.

oh OH AAH.... now im all beside myself

as a swede the this time period i just love

If new units are made, dont forget swedish light cannon that can move. This was one of the reasons Sweden was so succesfull. And swedish/finnish cavalry... the finnish Hakapelitas are really cool. just the name alone makes you feel good.
But one thing that will be hard to mod in is that during this period mercenarys became more and more important
And a new religion needs to be put in; Protestantism

I really look forward to such a mod http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wave.gif

(i might be able to help you to dig up things about sweden during this period)

Are new religions makeable? http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/dizzy.gif I don't think they are. If they aren't..then I'll have to keep every power (except for Russia, Turkey, and Egypt) catholic.

Religions are not makeable, however it may very well be possible, through some investigative work, to activate either the Heretical or Judaism religions. If that is too much work, you could always remove the Pagan religion and replace that with Protestantism as Paganism I believe was in adecline at thios point to a point where it is not needed in your MOD.
