Ok so I made an icon of myself i was pretty proud of cause you cant see me very well http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif and I posted it on my geocities space and linked to it, all was working well. But now after a couple of hours I don't see it anymore. I'm thinking either I killed my own bandwidth or there's probably something in the faq about direct linking being a no-no with geocities. Anything I can do? I know that space is an issue for everyone, but I did read something a while back about the org hosting icons or something to that effect. Or, is there anything out there that I can load up small icon pics or what not and actually link to them?

Here I was felling all special cause I had my first personal icon on a forum EVER...... http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/frown.gif

Konnichiwa,

I can see the Geocities avatar, looks nice scudknight.

Yes, there was an offer to host avatars and sig pics here at org, and the offer still stands. But I asked for someone to do a tiny bit of administration there (we don't want to clog the space with multiple overly large, temporary and no longer used pictures). No volunteers till today.

I think Geocities uses a daily bandwidth limit?

The org hosting of avatars/pictures will be opened as soon as there are one or more volunteers to keep an eye on it.

From what I know Geocities does make use of Daily Bandwidth (have no idea if they also have the option to pay for you webspace and having far more bandwidth and no banners/popups).

Thus after a while the page cannot be accessed or in other words; your picture will not show anymore untill the next day. Don't exactly know about those things really, but I do know that Geocities isn't really useful for such things as signature or avatar hosting.
