What program do i need to edit LMB files?

this is a tricky one,

to get 100% accurate/compatible LBM files you'll need GrafX
(from the orgs utilities downloads)
READ THE TEXT FILES that come with the program, maybe they'll help, maybe they wont, if they dont make sense DONT PANIC -> all is not lost,
the default setup is sufficient for Win98
- for WinXP - honestly i dont know, maybe you'll need choice.exe available from the downloads as well,

1. make a DUMMY file in the GrafX directory, a new text document and rename the document to File.BMP, you'll need to be able to see file the file extensions to do that,

2. copy the LBM file you want to edit into the GrafX directory,
open GrafX - open the LBM file, scroll down the file type list until you find BMP, save the file > OVERWRITE the File.BMP,

3. now open the bmp in anything you want
(i use photoshop)
edit freely,
save the file,

4. copy the file back into the GrafX directory,
5. make a dummy text document, rename the dummy file to File.LBM
6. open grafx, open YOUR edited BMP file
7. choose LBM file type from the scroll box
8. save your edited file as File.LBM > OVERWRITING the dummy file
Done
100% compatible with the STW, WE-MI, MTW and VI engines

WHY ALL TH EMUCKING AROUND ? a bug in Grafx will not save files properly if you try typing in the file name you want, the method outlined above, while being a minor nuisance works 100%
