Our recent poll - 'How old are...' indicates that, of the people that responded, by the 1st Dec
45% (44.90) are OVER 30

Recent research has shown that Western men in the age group 30 - 50 are GRUMPIER than their predecessors - Why ?

Perhaps because those younger then 16 didn't polled?

By the way, I'm older then 16, but younger than 30. Really. You must believe me. Please... http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wave.gif

i voted for 3, but if i had a lot more of 2 the rest wouldn`t matter. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

they say that money does`t make you any happier, but if some kind person could donate $20,000,000 to me i`d really like to disprove that saying, just as a small experiment http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wacko.gif

Gah's a symptom m8 -

I Gah all day, mainly at Boadecia, at the weather,at the dog at life - but then I'm a paid-up member of the Victor Meldrew (Angry old git fraternity) Most of my drinking pals say they get the same label from her indoors

But we all have one thing in common we love to have a good grouse - get it off your chest - life then looks a lot better

Am I allowed to be grouchy despite my youth?

Actually - I am a student... I'm supposed to be sullen and grumpy aren't I?

Well... the amount of maths I have to do is enought to get anyone down - especially as I'm not even doing a maths degree

But if youre young, its attitude is'nt it ?

You can get away with it - enjoy it 'Groucho ' for England,
you will get Marx for it

Hey, the #1 choice leads http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif Maybe some old grumpy fellows should not invest so much energy into TW games and this forum http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/tongue.gif

No matter how much time you invest in relationships, no amount of sex is enough. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif

I chose not to vote because there wasn't a none of the above option.

My experience has been that as we get older, life's hardships add up, and by the time one is in his/her 30's, s/he realizes that life is neither as grand nor as easy as s/he once believed it would be. After college, good friends are fewer and farther between. Usually immersed in family and career, there is much less time to have fun. Close inner circle friends from the good ol' days move and fade into voices on the telephone, or typed words on the computer screen. Parents die. Relatives die. Sometimes, friends die. If wise choices were not made when one was younger, one often finds his/herself living a life that s/he does not prefer (and realizes, either consciously or subconsciously, that they are ultimately responsible for their situation). All the things mentioned in the poll--to me--are symptoms of the source of the grumpiness, not the root causes.

Toga,

What a superbly crafted truthful reply which encapsulates
all so beautifully. I could not and would not add a word.

Thanks.

Like the song says, Oh yeah, life goes on,long after the thrill of living is gone.

Sometimes I'm a real sore tailed bear. Then I watch the news or read the paper and realize I'm doing much better than most in this crazy world. Don't worry, be happy. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wacko.gif

My only reason for grumpiness wasn't in the list: Not enough bloody time to play MTW. And with kid #2 due in early 2004, there won't ever be enough time to play RTW when it comes out.

Reasons enough

Option 11: Not Grumpy ever.

Cross:YES, Grumpy:NO. Not worth the waste of time. If there is any likehood of Grumpiness it is soon removed with a game of MTW.
