View Full Version : Greetings
I've been playing MTW SP for about 6 months now and haven't really given any thought to finding a forum about the game.
That is until I noticed a unit called Fuedal Foot Knights in Toulouse and wondered how i could get them. After speeding through a campaign as the French, building all logical combinations of buildings I thought would produce them, I gave up and went searching the net.
For the last 2 nights I've been reading this forum and the one over at the .com. I've found out so much stuff about this game that I would never have figured out on my own.
This will certainly enrich my warmongering. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif
So, hello and thanks for all the useful information http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/cool.gif

Re: Feudal foot knights.
Feudal foot knights = Feudal knights
I haven't trained or used Feudal Knights in my campaigns yet. I haven't tried my hand as the French yet.
According to the Bradygame strategy guide for MTW, Feudal Foot Knights are simply dismounted Feudal Knights. They are referred to as Foot Knights when they are used as infantry. The separate designation implies that they are a distinct unit. That is not the case.
I think that in the Custom Battles section, it uses the separate designation Feudal Foot Knight. But in the regular Campaigns, they will be referred to as Feudal Knights (until dismounted, which is only for the duration of a battle).
If that's the case, you simply raise units of Feudal Knights (for campaigns not custom battles). If you want to use them as infantry (Foot Knights), dismount them before battle (something I haven't tried yet).
Have you been able to train Feudal Knights?
There is a discussion of this topic here:
Feudal Foot Knights and Chivalric Foot Knights (http://www.totalwar.org/cgi-bin/forum/ikonboard.cgi?act=ST;f=15;t=9000;hl=dismounted)
In the discussion, it mentions that Foot Knights will sometimes appear in a rebellion. Maybe rebellious impoverished knights sold their horses to the glue factory. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/joker.gif

Congratulations on conducting your own search, I hope it was fruitful. So many folks post in the Entrance Hall without making the slightest effort to review the information already in here.
