fatal errors when loading a saved game

I'm running MTW v1.1
When attempting to load a saved game the program simply closes as soon as the loading finishes. No error messages, the program simply closes. One minute nice red loading bar, the next, desktop.

Kinda irritating, especially since it happens every time I want to load that particular saved game. I've tried loading other, previous saves, and everything works just fine.

If it were just the once, I'd let it go and just replay that year, but this has happened once before... this time that's a real pain; I spent 2 1/2 hours playing two pretty massive battles...

Anyway, I post this in the hope that some wonderful, talented, fantastic person out there might know what's going on, and be able to help... it would be very much appreciated

Sometimes the save game can get corrupted, especially if it's the quicksave.
Also it can be possible that you are having trouble because you recently patched to 1.1 and are trying to load a game started under v1.0...
So, does this happen only with this specific savegame or with all your savegames?
What you could try is loading another savegame or starting a new campaign and then trying to load the savegame you want from the Esc menu. If that doesn't work either, I'm afraid the savegame is really corrupt.
On the other hand, if you are having problems with all savegames, it might be some technical problem and I'm sure another knowledgable patron will post some advice.
