Hey there, im semi-new to this game and igo questions about BN's are their any good strategies for these guys? or am i better off using kensai?

BN overall are much more useful than Kensai. While both are vulnerable to cavalry, BN's can hide anywhere - and when in woods can fire and "cloak" before they are targetted.... Their h2h ability is superior to a kensai (the BN are MADE to KILL Kensai actually - try it sometime), they kill faster, and their ranged attack is a nice side benefit.

Give them low honour at the start of a mp battle send them into flank and they end at 4 honour http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/smile.gif

Very handy for knocking out taisho's and turning the tide of battle.

Avoid Cavalry at all costs.

hide BN in another unit, but don't try it against a vet.

I love to have 2 BN's and have them flank the enemy and kill the daimyio or their taisho.

So far Ive killed 3 daimyios and 2 heirs this way.. they're just awesome!

BNs are much more effective than the normal ninja to kill heirs. You can pair the BN's with yari ashigaru (used as bait) and have the BN's hide all over the map, waiting for the heir's unit to move close or near to them without having any support troops around (and you know how all the enemy troops just run amok when they chase after routing ashigaru). When the heir is alone, SMACK! he dies. you can then either retreat having achieved their goal or rout the rest of their troops *grin*

U can use your ninjas to take out the enemies guns. Try against a not so skilled player and put your BN ahead of the rest of your army. Then start to move your guys forward so he thinks you will attack with everything. Then suddenly attack the guns with your ninjas. Now there are 3 possibilities:
1. The enemy looses his head and fires all his guns on the ninjas -> Your other h2h units will get close without losses. -> you win.
2. The enemy doesn't see your ninjas -> they attack his guns -> the guns don't fire -> you get close with less losses and you still have your ninjas -> you win.
3. You tried against a skilled enemy -> he keeps cool takes out your ninjas with cavs, and his guns kill lots of your men. -> You loose (Not because of the guns, but because he played better than you.)

If you don't win in case 1 or 2 its not my fault. Blame your ISP.
