ahahaha, ahahaha
After a rebellion in Chernigov in MTW, I got the choice to enslave all of the rebels, only the ringleaders, or release them all. Just to see what happened, I decided to enslave them all.
Ahahaha
But, immediately after that, I forgot about it and then I thought of it again.
What actually happens when you enslave rebels? What are the advantages and the disadvantages? Nothing peculiar seems to be happening. Do they build buidlings at no cost? Do they bake free pies for my Sultan? Are they less loyal? Enlighten me
Thanks

I've never seen that. Only Execute All, Execute Ringleaders or Release All. I've only played as Catholic factions though.

Exactly.
Catholic=Orthodox=Execute
Muslim=Enslave
Game-wise it's the same thing.
They're just different names...
Heh, thought so. I'm scared to try out the other factions...their units seem so wierd to me. I wouldn't know the proper way to use them. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

Then you'll get tired of the game quicker... http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/frown.gif

You'll learn it in no time. Try it, it's GREAT http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif
I've been considering the Byzantines for a while. Maybe after this campaign. At least I won't hafta worry about excommunications. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

Ah, right, so it just means that the rebels are now gone from the game? No extras, no nothing?

It just affects your levels of dread, and vices & virtues.

IIRC, it affects the V&V's of your leader and may give incentive to that province to rebel again, you'll have to do a topic search or browse in the ToC.

Back to the issue guys
What is the difference between Kill/ enslave all, kill/ enslave ringleaders or release them all. Is it just a feat to give your general a rep for being bloodthirsty or mercyful? http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/confused.gif
I have always wondered about the effect on the province; do the people lose happiness because their friends and leaders get whacked/enslaved?, or does letting the rebels run around allow them to stir up trouble later?
I released the rebels in province and then, as a test, let them revolt a few years later. It was a different guy leading the rebellion.
But I have never read anything definitive on the effects on the province.
I have read, from Hosakawa Tito, a very knowledgeable fellow, that you should have a General act differently each time. If he consistently releases everyone, he gets the Most Merciful Virtue, +2 Happiness but -3 Dread. If he kills/enslaves everybody each time, then he can get the Blood Lover, -3 Morale, +3 Dread.
By having a General vary his reaction to rebels, it is possible to get the Dread (which is nice) and the Happiness (which is nice).
When a General has no previous history dealing with rebels, I release rebels when I first take a new province, I kill/enslave ringleaders when a province of mine revolts, and I kill/enslave anybody who hides in a castle and makes me siege/crash the gate.

Definitely enslave. Why not let the guy work for a time for each family that has suffered from his rule like the 8.000 kurds that was put to death in -88 with cemical gases or the 300.000 people that lies in mass tombs around the country.
I for one was against that USA, without international support, started this war but boy I´m happy that he is now captured. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/cheers.gif

Great I will definately change my constant kill/ enslave ringleaders behaviour. Thanks

Blood lover is coming from killing prisoners in battle.
Here is the complete list of releasing and enslaving rebels.

“He is indeed merciful when dealing with captured rebels. +2 Happiness, -2 Dread”
103 “Most Merciful”
“He is famous for showing mercy to captured rebels. +2 Happiness, -3 Dread”
104 “Swift Justice”
“He has been known to execute every last rebel captured as an example to others. +1 Dread”
105 “Secret Rough Justice”
“When suppressing rebellions, he secretly includes otherwise innocent petty enemies in the list of those to be arrested and executed. +1 Dread”
106 “Rough Justice”
“When suppressing rebellions, he includes otherwise innocent petty enemies in the list of those to be arrested and executed. No one dares speak out against this. +2 Dread, -1 Happiness”
107 “Tough Justice”
“He is draconian in his measures when suppressing rebellions, executing everyone involved and many innocents around him. No one is safe. +3 Dread, -1 Happiness”
108 “Secret Random Justice”
“He has given up any pretence of justice when dealing with rebels, executing all those captured and randomly selecting other victims by rolling dice. So far no-one has noticed. +3 Dread, -2 Happiness”
109 “Random Justice”
“Everyone now knows there is no justice in his rule. His methods for selecting who is accused of treason and executed are entirely random. The people hate him. +3 Dread, -5 Happiness”
It's from Jxrc list of V&V.
kill/ enslave ringleaders doesn't affect the V&V list.
Hope this helped http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif
