View Full Version : Tips
I've been wondering about what you tips you Veterans could give us newbies. I figured I'd start off with the obvious ones.
1.Don't attack up hills.
2.Attack in rain, heavy if possible, if the enemy has several bowmen, or musketeers. It weakens their bow shots (or so I've heard).
3.Rain ruins arq and musketeers, so attack with rain.
4.Have plenty of Yari Samuri for the calvary.
5.If possible attack the sides (flanks) or the rear of an enemy
That's all I can think of for now, any more you can give me would be appreciated.
go play online friednlies and learn from any defeats.

Anyway it's advice you want, so I suppose I'll take a shot--
Be secure in your path and your plans, so that you will not throw all into confusion at the first unusual enemy maneuver. But also be ready, and responsive to enemy actions. Also, remember the words of Dwight D. Eisenhower--
"No battle plan survives first contact with the enemy."

My advice for you bubba, is:
Forget that one
4.Have plenty of Yari Samuri for the calvary.
You can beat cavs with other things too. Best of all, if you have more and better cavs. Heavy Cavs really rock after the patch.
You can use some YS, but I wouldn't use more than 3, thats enough, (if you have 4 HC and 2 YC)...really.

Real simple. Fight only Mongol vs Japanese battles. Always take the Mongols. Buy nothing but Thunder Bombers. Expect your opponent to use the feared Wet Gunnie Wedgie on you. This means you will be fighting in rain most likely...
As the wedgie-o-death approaches, your Thunder Bombers will fire. In doing so, their explosives will fail more than work. Normally - this would be bad. However, the little bombs then fall to the ground, where they are trampled upon by the charging wedgie..This turns them into a UN Convention horror called a land mine. These blow the legs off the men in the Wedgie, so the can no longer continue to charge. Instead - they hop. Now your facing the fearsome Hopping Wet Gunny Wedgie.
Instruct your Thunger Bombers to withdraw, issuing a "March Rapidly" command. Run them uphill. The Wedgies will follow, however 2 things begin to work against them. Since they must now hop on one leg, they fatigue much faster than your men. Second, your men running up the hill has torn up the surface ground, which is also wet from the rain. This causes it to become a mudbank, and as the Wedgies try to hop up the hill, they invariably fall over and slide back down the hill. Allow them to do this until they are so tired they cannot get back up onto their one leg, and then charge your Thunder Bombers down into them.
Remember - in hand to hand combat your Thunder Bombers use their projectiles as skull smashers - which can cause them to detonate. Make sure you remind your TB's to turn their head when swinging so as to not get exploded brain matter in their eyes. Also, since the wedgie will be laying on the ground, you can tell your men to just place a grenade on the head of a victim, drag another one legged wet gunny over, and use his head to smash the grenade - resulting in 2x the number of kills recieved at a time.
This works wonders for a TB unit honor.

LOL
If I ever start playing online...
I swear I am going to take 16 muskets and form them into wedges and charge...
If only to hear the other player's reaction...
If it is someone from the forum, they may be rolling on their asses laughing so hard that I might just win...
No...on second thought, I'd still lose.
