How do you start a clan, do need a fancy website, or just some emails. I was wondering if anyone knew from thier experiances.

I advise you to take a look at the other clans websites. After that you'll have a pretty good ideea of what it means.

Hmm, are you romanian? Drop Nowake a PM if you are.

But, to the question: Nowake plays MP, but only Medieval, as he doens't have VI. He hasn't considered buying it yet. But if you are interested in battling Nowake on the slops of the MTW foyer, say it and we can arange it http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/pat.gif

1. Start small...3 or 4 members to start with.
2. A website will be nice.
3. A forum is a must.
4. Some clan rules (about behaviour)
5. A fancy name for your clan.

It's easy to start a clan, it's not so easy to keep it alive.

Good luck http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wave.gif

Kas has some good ideas. I've never started a clan, but I am active in one that has been around since Shogun.

Look for some folks who are online at the same time. Once your clan gets bigger its not as big a deal, but when there are only 3 or 4 of you and you are on at different times its hard to stay tight.

Develop a process for evaluating prospective members. I see new clans in the lobby asking anyone and everyone "Hey wanna join our clan". When you find someone you like then approach them.

Post here and in other forums that you exist, but go slow and be a little selective. Some clans focus on skill, others on personality. Some clans are polite and respectful, others are spawns of Satan. Get the right people for your clan.

A nice website is cool, but start with the basics - a forum where members can discuss things. EZBoard is commonly used. As you grow, members can contribute content to the site.

Keep it simple.

Good Luck
