I find geishas irritating as hell, and would like to play STW without them. Is there an easy way to edit them out, or has someone perhaps created a mod that does so? Ninjas, Shinobi, and the like are okay, but geishas just too powerful. I'd rather not play stupid back-and-forth games as a L4 geisha hunts my dudes.

Barocca's STWmod for MTW/VI has no geshias.

If you find and destroy the enemy province that is producing the geishas, you won't be pestered by them anymore. Usually it is far from your front line, so send emissaries via port to search. When you locate the province with the Geisha House, move an emissary into the port province nearest to the province with the Geisha House in it (or a spy or ninja, if the port province has no border forts). Then move a (large, balanced) raider army from one of your ports into that enemy port province and conquer it on the next turn (raze the buildings for koku). Move directly to the province with the Geisha House with this raiding army (conquering, razing, and reaping koku as you go). Capture the province, and raze all the buildings in it, including the Geisha House. Then work your way back to the nearest port and bring the remainder of your raiding army home. Remember not to raze the port you jumped to if it is the only one in the neighborhood, or you'll have a hell of a time bringing your raider army back to friendly territory

This only works in STW: Warlord Edition/Mongol Invasions, as I don't think you can raze buildings in STW. But it works well, and there usually isn't enough time for the enemy AI to rebuild another Geisha House before you conquer Japan (unless you're really taking your time ... ).

The best counter to geishas are geishas. I always make it a point to develop nothing but the infrastructure necessary for a Geisha House in one dedicated province, beginning immediately at game start. I usually have 4-5 Geishas before an enemy geisha appears. When I see one, I send my lowest ranking Geisha to kill her, and also immediately apply the strategy I mentioned above: seek and destroy the source of the enemy geishas. Works like a charm for me, and I end up being the one who terrorizes my enemies with the nasty little babes--for the most part, exclusively.

I dont' know... it feels unfair to use geishas. Even so, I make sure I have at least one on hand to neutralize an enemy geisha... I while back, I didn't have the resources to apply the strategy you just outlined, so I had my daimyo (no heirs) going back and forth between ports, waiting to train a geisha... 16 seasons is a loooooong time.........
