NVidia Geforce MX440 Problems

I have read numerous posts in the Apothecary section, hopefully they will work but can someone give me a full guide on how to get the game to work

The game loads to the main menu. When i try to run a Campaign/Battle/Tutorial, the game goes to the loading screen but freezes there, i have no option but to restart. I have tried numerous settings and changing display resolutions (In Windows and Game)

Windows ME
AMD Athlon 2000
512 MB Ram
Geforce MX440 (Unsure what drivers)
Direct X 9
Avance AC97 Soundcard
20 GB HDD

Where can i downgrade the NVidia drivers? this has been mentioned in the other forums, but which version works and where can i get it?

Greetings Leemjones,I have a similar card and I found as many did the older version drivers seems to work best I use 30.82 myself but have had reasonable good play with 41.09 as well, make sure the are Nvidia drivers, if you read the thread in the Apothecary on Nvidia card settings that should be a help as well...LOS http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/santa.gif

Thanks for the info. It was your stuff i read previously and also about using previous driver version.


After trying different versions of the software and messing about, i finally decided i would just reinstall windows after formatting my hard drive. (I had installed all sorts and was slowing system down)

After the reinstall i used NVidia driver 30.82, i had tried the newest version (53.86 i think). This appeared to work the best.

On NVidia website i had to do a search for 95/98/Me driver archive, use these words exactly as i couldn't find the archive initially, it only showed the 2000/xp one. and searching for me didn't work.

Also installed the Via Hyperion 4 in 1 service pack. The game appears to work fine now.
