Just for your information, Prima's guide isn't worth a piece of horse dung. Reason: those who wrote it don't play games.

Even browsing the archives here will give you much more accurate information.

Agreed with Gothmog.

Those who write those #$%& guides are newbies who played the game for a few days and pretend to have the sufficient knowledge to write a guide...
Here we have many veterans playing this game at the hardest level (ie. MP) for 1.5+ years and I would advice you to read our strategy archive and visit good strategy sites like those listed on the mainpage of das Org.

I think I'll will compile what the vets have posted in the forum, and sell it for a small profit.

Hmm.. what should I name it?

".ORG guide to Shogun : Total War - Mongol Invasion"?

"STW:MI for Dummy - A LordTed's guide to 170+ honour"

Another "I agree!!" from me:

The Shogun Prima guide, is the first and only strategy guide I have ever spent money on - and man is it bad! Full of explanations about menues scrapped from some beta version of the game. Loooong descriptions about how you click your mouse to move a unit.
The guide was even worse than I expected - and I really have low thoughts of game strategy guides in general.
Why did I buy it then? Saw it at a sale - 20 dkr (about 2.5$ or 2.7 euro) - and after all shogun IS my favorite game.....
But you'll probably have more fun playing the game and learn the tactics yourself....

Have to agree with what the others say. I buy very few games and usually got the strat guide as well as I was always a sucker for trying to find out everything I could about the games I have. However, you'll find all you need about strategy on sites like this and the various fan sites out there.

The books are heavily padded out usually repeating most of what the manual says anyway and adding very little.

Well I do have a copy if you're still interested but I haven't done a very good sales job have I? http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/smile.gif
