Following some tutorials from this forum (big thanks to whoever wrote it), I managed to add new units to different factions. I understand that by using gnome Editor some units can be well...looking for right word....upgraded”? I don't think that the right term but...lets say I would like to increase fighting abilities of certain cavalry units.
Could someone be so kind to tell me what fields in editor need to be edited? And maybe where do I add new weapons to the units.
I would grateful for your help and I do apologized if this topic has been answered already.... I just could not find it.

charge bonus - column 37
melee bonus - column 38
defence bonus - column 39
armour level - column 40
honour level - column 41

First you have to add a new weapon on each frame of a name.BIF and also name_H.BIF that your unit uses. Then you have to create a new entry in weapons file with correct coordinates of your new weapon.
And this isn't over yet, you still have to do something more to make it all work, maybe somebody else will explain that as I have to go now. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/tongue.gif

I was just tweaking some stuff in the GnomeEditor myself, but Eastside already answered that; on the other hand, Maly Jacek, I recommend that you look all the way up in the GE, since above every column stands an explanation to what it represents, and you'll figure out everything in no time Shouldn't be a big trouble for someone who actually added new units to the game http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/bigthumb.gif
Back up all you original files at all times
Look around in the dungeons, there are tons of files about it
And, of course, welcome to the Org, Maly Jacek

I downloaded the gnome editor today and I too have a few questions. I just want to change units production prices and upkeep. Should I open the Crusader_11 or the Crusader_13? All I want to do is double the upkeeps/prices. Is there an easy way to do that or do I have to manually go through each unit's colmn?
Also when I save it, what should I save it as? Should I keep it the same name, and back up the original file or will the computer recognize that I created the new one?
Thank you for any help

OK open the prod 11 file and the first few column deal with production cost and upkeep make your edits then click on save, it will ask save file as ,use the same name but like you mentioned be sure to always back any file up before making changes...LOS

Ok, well, I just got another question. It is in MedMod that I want to change the units costs, and apparently it doesn't use the Crusader_11 prod file, because I went through and changed ALL the units and then realized that the changes wouldn't work.
I assume the file I'm looking for is the MedMod_Full_units_prod, or whatever that one is called, but when I tried to open it with the gnome editor (as a Crudaser_unit_prod_11) it froze the computer. Am I using the right file and if not which one?
Thanks again for your help
