I don't know if this has been brought up before but, what do you guys think about multiple day battles?

For instance if time runs out do you think that the opposing force should be able to organize a second attack on the next day instead of waiting a whole year? Or that a battle could end with more than one type of outcome major defeat, minor defeat, draw, minor victory, or major victory. For instance if the battle ends in a mnior defeat, draw, or minor victory the battle would have to be fought the next day.

In a minor defeat your forces would lose some morale maybe 10 percent and the computer would decide if the wanted to defend or attack the next day. In a draw there would be no loss of morale unless you are the attacking force and, the defending force would remain the defending force while the attackers would have to attack the next day. In a minor victory your men would gain morale and, you could choose wether to attack or defend.

Interesting one... But would it be possible to implement that in the game? I'm still not quite clear about how this turn/days thing really works. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/dizzy.gif

If I remember correctly the CA spoke of being capable to start your fighting at any time of the day, dawn for instance, and end up finishing the battle in the evening, and all the time the light would change and you would have the feeling that the time is running real-world like...

Good idea, mercian billman, if we follow historical records than we would notice that there were many battles lasting for days, but whether it would be possible and fitting in the terms of gameplay, I cannot tell.

I think it would be possible. The only real problem is time not alot of people have time to play 4-5 hour battles so CA would have to allow someone to chosse wether or not they want multiple day battles before they start a campaign.

Well... they only have to wait two seasons this time. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif

Anyway, it's a good idea, but hard to realise. The way it probably will be represented in the game, is just the passing of the day itself. I.e., two opposing armies fight from dusk 'till dawn, and then they retreat for a time. When their men are ready to fight again, say that is the next morning according to the sky, they once again meet each other in the melée. So no interrupting of the battle. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif

and u could also be able to conduct night raids and attacks. but this option is only aviable to generals with 5 stars and above and only with professional troops ie. no peasants. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/bigthumb.gif

there's is one problems though. what about other armies, thier movements , and what did they say about multible battles. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/cheers.gif
