Is there any value to putting garrisoned troops back into the Castle (without re-training)I can see the benefit of re-training week units if your low on Kuko, but my buddy told me that he always keeps his troops in the castles. I never saw any value of doing this. Thanks in advance.

I think the chance of ninja asssination varies depends on whether the general is in the caslte or not. The difference is so small to a point of neglectible.

Otherwise I don't see any real reason of doing that.

The two are really unrelated. Retraiing is usually worth doing if you aren't pushed into needing rapdi troop production, you can get the benefit of high honour troops in a large uit as each soldier has his own stats. garisoning castles isn't worth the bother of clicking the mouse.

Retraining also has the benefit of conferring bonuses from where you retrain them while keeping the old bonuses - e.g. if you've got a unit of No Dachi with +2 Weapons you can retrain them in a province with a famous armoury and get No Dachi with +2 Weapons, +2 Armour.

It's not just a good way to replenish troops, it lets you upgrade older units.
