Well... my browser says it's an incorrect page.

It is true that SearchTheWeb has f*cked up my browser royally, for no good reason at all (SearchTheWeb? WTF? ).;)

Let's hope this is true... http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/cheers.gif

The download file says its MTW_Demo.exe

I guess that's a clue, along with the file being the same size as the demo for MTW that is available at gamesdomain being exactly the same size.

Back to bed....

I wish that silence from the CA means they are working 24-7 to bring us the R:TW demo for Christmas… That would be some gift, right?

I geuss that if CA was even thinking of releasing a demo, it would be announced in a page-filling message at the .com. They have made us wait another half year for the game, so they will need something to keep the less steadfast gamers warm.

It will certainly not be first available at some site unrelated to CA. The chance of such a thing happening is almost negative.

I saw this a few days ago, and yes its a hoax. The download is an MTW.exe file and is the mtw demo. It just some ploy to get more hits on their site, which really makes me mad http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/mad.gif http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/mad.gif http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/pissed.gif

Good thought... http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

Sad that it wasn't ( Toughen up, guys http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/joker.gif )

I am certain that when RTW is in a presentable state and working to the guys at CA's satisfaction, that they will get a demo out to the clamouring masses... but I would happily forgo a demo, if it meant that RTW gets to the shop shelves a little bit faster...

In the mean time I hope the CA team gets a break over Christmas and http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/cheers.gif http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/birthday.gif http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/pat.gif http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/handball.gif http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/bigthumb.gif http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/santa.gif ... And besides, I hardly believe that it would run on my poor old P IV 1,6 GHz… The next fall will find me with a brand new PC, exclusively for R:TW

??? A P4 1.6 GHz will run anything at the moment, and definitely RTW...

It failed miserably when I had to test the Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic. The characters kept warping and hitting walls, I had to disable everything in the background, lower the resolution and effects and keep my fingers crossed. In the end I made it, but it was a close call.
Certainly not the experience I would like to repeat when getting myself the R:TW, though I believe it would run on this specification, the real question is "how" would it run?

It depends on what graphics card and ram you are using, I should imagine. If you were going to upgrade, I would spend your money on something other than the processor. But that's just me. Still, the lure of that big Alienware sure is hard to resist, eh? http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif

For your info, respected Big King Sanctaphrax,

I have a GeForce 4200 Ti 128 MB and 512 MB RAM, the testing made clearly that I need a stronger processor, other components were sufficient. I also spend a good deal of time editing video material, so for me the processor is never fast enough…

Besides, there is something enchanting about getting a virgin-like new machine, tuned up, buzzing and ready to fly… The downside is that bankruptcy is at hand, oh dear…

Really? Weird...that's the exact same setup I have and I could run KOTOR with no problems...

In that case, lucky you, I've put away my KotOR until I get faster engine to ride with. Sad, but true.

NO They must be hounded, working 24-7 every single day so that we get RTW early

Because the (in)famous "crusade against oversized sigs" started by A.Saturnus… But you shouldn't worry all too much, the merciless, not-of-this-world legions of kikkomanen have launched a massive Jihad to reclaim their right to be bigger and better…
