Takew out the ability to spam in foyer plz
Several people were doing i tlast night and it was so fast i couldent even see the names doing it
Just take out the feature
Yes, spamming was so annoying and the fact of pressing up-arrow and return to spam makes it so easy.

(it is harder to type #ignore than to spam).

Just be careful before you ask for features to be removed.............
I have never had an ignore list, I don't need to type #ignore to ignore someone. Don't rise to the bait is my advice...and yes I do realise how annoying it is

Once-upon-a-time in STW it was considered the height of rudeness if you failed to say "GG" after playing a game. Now in my 1v1's 80% of my opponents quit before 'end-game'; few say 'gl' upon start, about 20% curse me as they quit, and 1 in 10 accuse me of cheating....when I host now I usually click the 'filter public chat' box, play under assummed names and dont talk to anyone. Its the most harassment free arrangement ive found.

I have noticed a recent spat of hosts quitting before game is over as well. Plus a few more nasty individuals who seem to enjoy joining games, complaining before start, harrassing teammates, then not deploying so game can start. I have added several to my "ban" and "ignore" list recently and I dont play very long now.
I have also noted a distinct turn of events, which have decreased the variety of maps and florin levels being used. Seems clan competition is in full swing again, with clan members only playing with other clan members, on flat or steppe maps, high period, 10k. I remember this happening when other clan competitions were held and I think the CWB has inadvertently created the stagnancy we see in game types now.

Spammers are... well spammers. Sad peeps really and orda is right, silence is the best weapon against them. I actually use the arrow key quite often and want it kept in. I use it usually to announce openings in games I'm hosting.

I have not posted on these forums for several months as my CD drive was malfunctioning for a couple months. I fixed it yesterday, and was really looking foward to playing some online VI (and hoping everyone hadn't forgotten me http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif ).
But, as I read the multiple threads in here about spammers, flamers, and the ilk, my heart grows heavy. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/frown.gif
Only six months ago the VI forum was polite and good natured, from what I read now...
I was eagerly anticipating a glorious return to the days of my Turk armies, but they may not be so glorious. Nonetheless, I will return, for a while at least, if only to see the plauge for myself.
Popularity has indeed been a double-edged sword (not to mention combining the forums).
Perhaps, instead of removing the up arrow, Gamespy needs only to set a limit on how much you can spam, and then auto-mute you for a minute or so if you go over the limit.
Perhaps, if gamespy doesn't get off their slow, ugly keisters fast enough, we can set up an IRC chat room and password it if the flood o' fools somehow finds it's way in there.
Keep up the good fight my friends
