Org Downloads

Hi guys, I actually would have preferred posting this in The Watchtower but being unable to post in there myself I thought it would be best to stick it in the EH to get everyone's attention.

(If a MOD Could move it that would be great)

Now has anyone else been having problems with Downloading files at the Org? (Well 3D Downloads, since they host all of the files)

My main concern is the average length of the waiting line... I was trying to download the Gnome Editor, but I seemed to be in the waiting line for quite some time (it estimated 30 Minutes as 130 people were before me, but in reality I was on there for a couple of hours).

Now I am a 56Ker and file downloads do take their time, but waiting that long before even getting the chance to download was difficult for me.

Anyone else had difficulty with this system? Any better links out there?

There's a small 'mirror': no queues, no pop-ups -^ Link Files in the navigation bar.

I agree with you emperor, the wait is excessive. I do not use gamespy if at all possible, prefering to get my files elsewhere.

I find the wait on gamespy shorter. Peer to peer is the way to go. Find someone on forums with the file and ask for a transfer via IRC/MSN - now theres an idea for the mods. File requests ^^

As a junior member, I'm surprised you dont take advantage of the 'files' tab available to you while in 'guild-hall' mode, eh?

A mighty fine short-cut to 'most' files found on 3D~ no line, no waiting........

As for me using the File Feature in the forums, I guess it just didn't stick in my mind. I always thought the most efficient downloads would be listed on the main site...

Just a habit I guess.
