I have an ATI Radeon IGP 345M 64M video board. My problem is that sometimes I get almost to the end of the battle and the icons on the battle screen will flicker and I'm locked up. ctr-alt-delete time.

Also have:
XP Home
2.6g
512M Ram
80g HD
Not sure about Audio...I think some kind of Legacy board??
Have tried about every resolution/audio quality combo I can think of in game. Set MTW to win 98 compatability, and still it locks up.

It's frustrating cuz I, as a novice, just had beaten the Sicilians in a fairly large battle involving 6 or 7 units of Royal knights. I was Turk, and had 2 spearmen and no Cav ('cept horse archers) and 4 or 5 Ghazi Inf. I had the battle won and wanted to go back to the strat map carrying this victory....also wanted to save the battle for showing friends.

Thanks

Does the video card have a cooling fan on it?
Does your system have a case fan blowing across the AGP card?

If the answer to either of these is NO, then I would think you have a cooling issue.

What driver version? 3.9 catalyst Beta is out, that might help.

Also, im guessing its a 8500? well, 7xxx or 8xxx? They were both netoriously buggy series', Which is why the 9xxx series (Undoubtedly better performers than the current Nvidia range) Get such a iffy press...Yes its so powerful, but come on, Nvidia, you know..

Anyways, it might be in your interest to grab a new vid card -

Nvidia geforce 4 Ti4200, can't go much wrong with it, tho the Radeon 9600XT is a brilliant card for its price aswell http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif (No problems with either of em, trust me on that hehe)

I do have a cooling fan.

Forgot to mention it is in a laptop. Not sure, but the igp 345m may be a version for laptops only?

I went to Windows update and downloaded new driver for this video board and it totally screwed things up. I tried to roll back the driver and that didn't work so I rolled the registry back. That put it back where it was. ATI website says for notebooks, see your manufacturer. I then went to the Compaq (it's a Presariass 2500) and downloaded a driver for a Presario 2500 and now I'm scared to install it, as there are 2 versions. One called AP and one called LA. After snooping around on the website, they said where to look for the model number, and mine says neither. Needles to say, I'm a little gunshy of downloading any drivers and installing them, as the last one caused such fear and loathing.

Are there any settings I should look at for open GL or anti-aliasing or anything else???
